Mills’ Routine Death-Gift to the Masses

*By Akadu Ntiriwa Mensema, Ph. D.

“President John Evans Atta Mills has arrived from a ‘routine medical check-up’ trip
in the US. He has been away for close to nine days (June 16 -25) in a trip that was
characterized by a lot of political uproar. He was met on arrival by all the
Ministers of State at the Kotoka International Airport on Monday afternoon”
(Ghanaweb June 25, 2012)

** Dedicated to thousands of Ghanaian women who have died in child-birth in our
decaying hospitals due to the in/actions of predatory pen-armed robbers in the
guise of “tribalistic” chiefs who protests on behalf of the WOYOMES; useless
parliamentarians whose main interest is getting “free car loans;” senile members of
the Council of State who have lost their teeth in public discourse; bandits in
kaleidoscopic colonial robes called judges and lawyers; thievery ministers of state
who are only interested in 10 percent bribes; the most useless president who likes
the eternal poisonous carbon dioxide in the slave castle instead of the fresh
enduring oxygen in the Jubilee House; and the benighted and poor masses who chase
after thievery politicians to feed on their thievery left-overs.

Pen-armed robbers
Vultures in preying poise
Educated thieves
Educated fools
Fools fooling their lives
The killers of the dream
Squander life on cars
Instead of good hospitals
Squander life on cars
Instead of medical schools

Mills has returned home
With a triumphant gift
Of Colo Mentality Death
Oh! The gift of death
For the sick masses
In death-trap hospitals
Korle Bu
Effia Nkwanta
Tetteh Quarshie
Okomfo Anokye
Military Hospital
Police Hospital
The masses die in Korle Bu
Mills seeks healthcare in USA
The masses can’t go to USA
Mills flies to the USA
For routine check-up
The masses go to Korle Bu

When Mills tells all
Tells Ghanaian kids
Ah! The best is in the West
The best place is the USA
To have routine check-up
The worst place is Ghana
Ghana he has made poor
Ah! The best is in the West
Rhymes that rise like the sun
Brainwashed nursery rhymes
Potent, gripping like the sun

Potent, gripping like the sun
But the worst is in our sons
Our thievery sons
Our pen-armed sons
Our hopeless sons
In the Rawlingses
In the Kufours
In the Mills

Hopeless sons
Who can’t refurbish Korle Bu
Not for even routine check-up

When we squander our wealth
When we give 51 million away
To NDC-Financier Woyome
To be celebrated by Volta chiefs
Marching in dilapidated sandals
Clad in impoverished singlets

When Kufuor’s son buys a hotel
Poor wretched son buys a hotel

When we give 20 million to Cotton
The clueless American woman
Cotton to turn it into rice for us

When the Asabee roams free
Pissing from his thick lips on us

When the Ahwois roam free
When they poise CASHPRO
From Socialists to Billionaires

There will be no Korle Bu
Mills has returned home
With a triumphant gift
Of Colo Mentality Death
Oh! The gift of death
Gift for the masses
To die in death-traps
At Korle Bu
At Okomfo Anokye
Of these gifts of death
The killers of the dream
