Columnist: Sangaparee, Clement
Ex-President Rawlings must be the last person to describe the sitting president as a slow person or a “Konongo Kaya”. Has the Ex-president forgotten so soon what he did to dissenting cadres in 1999? You must be prepared to dance to the music play by President Mills and stop playing the ostrich. Is Ex-President Rawlings telling Ghanaians that he in tensionally imposed an “incompetent lawyer” as his heir on the NDC as a party? Professor Mills was chosen single handedly by Rawlings in 1996 and the cadres protested vehemently and in re-action, Rawlings unleased the Security apparatus on the cadres but our leading members and a good number of cadres boldly broke away and the NDC lost the 2000 elections. After three elections, candidate Mills finally won the 2009 general elections, so if today Rawlings is accusing the very person he alleged imposed on the party in his capacity as a powerful military cum civilian dictator in 1992, who is he blaming? Does he think he can use foul language to destroy the President and finally cause his removal or compel him to resign? It will never and can never happen in Ghana. If anything at all, we shall carry the sitting President and place him in a wheel chair to campaign for votes in 2012 and complete his 8 year term in office, if he cannot walk. Professor Mills was chosen un-opposed because of his extreme honesty and patriotism and he has since proved that he is capable of managing the country as the President of Ghana. If anything, Ex-President Rawlings is also tasting the fruits of civilian dictatorship and wish, he were the President of Ghana but the 1992 constitution bars him. Did Rawlings remember the number of cadres who were dumped in side the BNI Cells in 1999 for opposing his decision to impose the then Vice President on the party? If Professor Mills fails, Rawlings has also failed so Comrade Jerry must be aware I don’t hate Rawlings or his wife. This is only an advice and the NDC will grow very stronger if he heeds this advice.
As a cadre, the reasons of our senior cadres was that Professor Mills was honest and qualified but he was NOT a cadre, so when he becomes the President of Ghana, he will turn his back on the cadres. Here you are – President Mills has proved all those cadres wrong completely and if this is the case, why shouldn’t cadres support President Mills to succeed in his Better Ghana Agenda? It is now or never, we shall carry the President and place him in a wheel chair to campaign nationwide in 2012 should he become sick during the general elections.
Who told our senior cadres that Professor Mills is NOT a cadre? He was a young pioneer cadre who graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah Ideological School in Winneba, go and ask him if you doubt it and 90% of the cadres of the PNDC were former CPP young pioneers including this writer, so why should anybody describe Professor Mills as a new face in the NDC and not a cadre in 1996? The cadres were all rooting for Comrade Goosle Tannoh who became the Flag bearer of the National Reform Party in 1996, how many votes did he get, what percentage did he get? Their break away finally led to the defeat of the NDC in 2000. Whether President Mills is good or bad, the credit and discredits goes to Ex-President Rawlings, so it is time to cease fire and support your adopted son whom you hand picked in 1996 and detained several cadres who opposed your decision to impose him on the party because he was a “new face” and not a cadre? You bull dozed your way through, and now he is the President of the Republic of Ghana and you must rather ensure that he succeeds in delivering the goods and NOT to always INSULT him. The NDC is trying to commit political suicide and this must STOP now. However, nobody can destroy or handle Rawlings except his own cadres in this country. The man is a gem as well as his wife so they must be preserved. Mills must go un-opposed in 2012 and if he decides not to contest the 2012 elections because of his alleged ill-health, John Mahama must also go un-oppose then.
When that happens, sanity will prevail in the NDC as a party. Is ANYBODY LISTENING? I will be back with more because my main AGENDA is to ADVISE Rawlings to stop insulting President Mills in public. I am done.

THE NDC MUST NOT COMMIT INTENTIONAL POLITICAL SUICIDE PART 3
The party we sacrificed extremely to organize since 1992 to have a firm structure on the ground all over the country cannot be allowed to be destroyed by professional liars, self-seekers and plain opportunists who falsely believe that once the NDC has won the elections, it is their cocoa season and they see the party as a GOLDMINE. If they really want a goldmine – they must leave the party and come to Obuasi and work underground to extract pure gold there – period.
If President Mills fails to deliver and perform to the satisfaction of Ghanaians. It is Rawlings who will be blamed even though he is not the President because he made Professor Mills what he is today. It is therefore far better for Rawlings to use his vast experience for 19 years as Head of State to guide the President behind closed doors rather than condemning and teasing him in public. This is a fact, because I don’t always write to please anybody because I write to provoke debate. If the National and Regional Secretariats refuse to handle the numerous complains of most party supporters and resolve them amicably, the party would be very surprised when its leading members are CHASED AWAY during the 2012 general elections even in the NDC strongholds in this country and when that happens, has the party not committed an intentional political suicide? Who is the cause, it is Rawlings first, before the President himself. If an insect is biting you, it is hiding inside your own cloth and this is exactly what is happening inside the NDC. How can you continue to condemn your own President and later go out to sell him to the electorate during the general elections in 2012? This is just too bad and it must be stopped now or we all regret it in 2012. Listen to what Rawlings said in 1979.
Ghanaians have been sleeping for far too long, closing their eyes to a multiple of EVIL perpetuated against the state by the people at the helms of affairs. Ghanaians must be BOLD ENOUGH to POINT out the mistakes of their leaders WHEN THEY ARE STILL AT POST, and NOT the unpardonable mistake of being able to say what went wrong, when the sinner was OUT OF THE SCENE. J. J Rawlings – June 22nd – 23rd, 1979 Daily Graphic. Can such a thing ever happen in this country. Many cadres of the revolution were SACKED during the PNDC era and they were C.D.R cadres simply because the TRUTH in sometimes can be subversive, most of them are dead and gone. President Mills have been given 4 years to manage the affairs of this nation, and NOT 1½ years. You see, SYCOPHANCY CAN DESTROY OR EVEN KILL you as well as BACKBITING. Chains of degrees does NOT make one a good politician and a fool remains a fool whether he goes to University or not and these were made very clear during the 8 years of the non-performing NPP regime under Ex-President Kufour whose finance minister went and sought for loans in a Chinese Hair Dressing Saloon in 2007 or there about. It happened for 8 years. If you put a uniform on a goat, it will behave very strangely simply because it has never worn a uniform before. Therefore, if you are lucky to be given an appointment by the government, you don’t begin to misbehave by being a serial liar and look down on cadres with contempt as if they are your rivals.
The NDC cannot sideline Rawlings because he is a charismatic crowd puller whose word carries weight not only in Ghana but internationally. If you are a government appointee and you give jobs to your friends and relatives who sat on the fence during the 2008 general elections and sideline strong party supporters who sacrificed all their lives to bring the party to power, will you have the moral courage to go and campaign in front of the tribesmen of those strong party supporter that you REJECTED and rather employed your close relatives who sat on the fence? They will surely reply you with their thumbs and the party will lose thousands of votes because of your greed and naked show of political power. These nasty state of affairs are taking place in several constituencies nationwide and the National Secretariat is very much aware of it. What are they saying or doing about it? These nasty states of affairs must stop in order to move the party forward. However, all those who are attacking the cadres are kicking against a very hard rock with their feet and they will only injure their feet because nobody can destroy the cadres who are the Landlords of the NDC.

THE NDC MUST NOT COMMIT INTENTIONAL POLITICAL SUICIDE PARTY PART 4
If Ex-President Rawlings projected the then candidate Mills from 1996 until he won the general elections in 2009 only for him to turn round and describe the same professor as a “Konongo Kaya” a Ghanaian proverb which means that someone who can not carry the load and will NOT allow another person to carry that load. This is unfortunate. As a cadre, could somebody ever describe Rawlings during his Presidency in such a manner and get away with it? It is capital No.
It was Rawlings who signed the 1992 Constitution into law, he is now out of power, is he telling Ghanaians that the constitution should be amended again to replace President Mills whom he described as being slow? It is not possible and if he is blaming the President today, he must blame himself 3 times first before complaining and duely apologise to all those cadres he dumped inside BNI cells in 1999 for kicking against the imposition of the then Vice President Mills. At 63 years, Comrade Rawlings must shed some of his revolutionary actions by stopping public utterances that only tarnish the image of the Presidency in order to move the nation forward since Ghana has travelled a long way democratically.
Because of his unguarded utterances, some people who are NOT even qualified enough to polish his shoes and that of his wife are insulting him daily to the embarrassment of cadres and his numerous admirers. The cadres organized the Reform Party because they feared that Professor Mills who was a law lecturer for 25 good years will turn his back against the very cadres who sacrificed extremely to organize the NDC as a party with firm structures on the ground nation wide. But the good old Professor has proved all those cadres who thought that way completely wrong by appointing several cadres in his cabinet, as Regional Minister’s and even as District Chief Executive. Cadres have appreciated the good behaviour of President Mills and are prepared for President Mills as we did to Rawlings from 1982 to 1992 up till the year 2000.
Who are the people around President Mills at the Castle? The Ahwoi brothers are all cadres and they were the same people who worked in the trenches with Rawlings and all of us. If you describe these gentlemen as greedy men, then was it because they were greedy that you flatly refused to give cadres their Ex-gratia awards after the extreme sacrificial revolution launched by you from 1982 – 1992? If you don’t take care and your behavior and utterances cause the defeat of the NDC in 2012, you will suffer severely in the hands of the vengeful NPP government that may take over. God forbid any anyway.
Have you read the Evil intentions of Mr. Appiah Menkah a leading member of the NPP that they were trying to plunge Ghana into a civil war because their Presidential candidate was defeated by you in 1992 or not? How long can you be playing politics with the people’s precious lives? On behalf of Ex-president Rawlings, we the cadres duely apologise to President Mills for his unwarranted attacks on him – however, the president should do well to resettle both Ex-president Kufor and J. J. Rawlings because the 1992 Constitution says so. If the NDC is not pro-active, it is gradually trying to commit an intentional political suicide by losing the 2012 general elections – God forbid, posterity will never forgive the leadership of the NDC from National to Constituency levels if we fail to handle internal party affairs in a professional manner. These are NOT my words, but I believe it is the stubborn TRUTH because I am NOT MAD to always write by heart. I rather write on National Issues. I was once confronted by several party members and NPP members with a simple question that, why have you not been given any job to do since 2009 when your party won power? My answer was that: President Mills does NOT want to sack NPP members and replace them with NDC members and they were satisfied. But the real problem is that somebody with immense power in the Obuasi Municipality has vowed that he can not work with a cadre like me in the Constituency. He claimed that he was instructed by the Vice President to ensure that I get no job to do because I wrote an article Entitled “NDC Foot Soldiers Opens Friendly Fire on Government and the Vice President re-acts by Hitting below the Belt”. This is a big lie and I know that the Vice President has taken my advice in good faith and will never give such an order to MCE or DCE. I still stand by that article I once wrote.

THE NDC MUST NOT COMMIT INTENTIONAL POLITICAL SUICIDE PART 5
After handing over power to Dr. Hilla Limann in September 1979, J. J. Rawlings returned to the barracks as a Flight Lieutenant. All the members of the AFRC military junta accepted juicy monetary packages to study abroad but Rawlings refused to collect any pesewa from Dr. Limann’s PNP government.
From September to December 1979, all the comrades of June 4 left the country to pursue their various courses a broad leaving Rawlings alone in the Army and the junior officers still continued calling him Chairman in the barracks and the then President Hilla Limann who was a die-in the wool member of the Danquah / Busia tradition now NPP felt NSECURE. Sometime in 1980 he invited Rawlings to the Castle and as they were conversing, Radio Ghana announced the premature retirement of Rawlings from the military at its one O’clock news bulleting without his knowledge because Britain had instructed Dr. Limann to retire Rawlings before they come down to Ghana and re-organize the Ghana Armed Forces.
Readers must note that A SOLDIER of ANY RANK in the army any where in the world can become a Head of State in any country after successfully overthrowing a government. June 4 Movement was formed on June 26th, 1979 with Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings as the life patron and this writer registered as a member of the Ashanti Regional Brach of the June 4 Movement in 1979. No sooner had Rawlings retired from the Army than Chris Asher used his infamous newspaper. “The Palaver” to destroy all the gains of June 4 and Rawlings himself from September 1979 to 30th December, 1981.
The Military Intelligence and the Special Branch (Now BNI) were instructed by the PNP Government sort to monitor Rawlings and Captain Kojo Tsikata and even kill them if possible. Rawlings and Captain Kojo Tsikata knew no peace, they had no peace and Captain Tsikata was nearly killed but it was only God that saved the lives of these patriotic statesmen. However, Chris Asher the cowardly crusader against coups in Ghana was the first coward to cross the border into the Republic of Togo after 31st December, 1981. Enter General Arnold Quianoo who went to the Military Academy and Training School to have a few things typed for him. He packed his car and went to one of the offices to type some letters and the dreaded Military Intelligence Chaps machine gunned his car and if he had been in the car, he would have died by now – God forbid. It was followed by Dr. Nabila who was either a Presidential Adviser or whatever; I have forgotten his actual little at the Castle at that time. He wrote a letter to all public boards and corporations, including private liability companies to dismiss all known members of the June 4 Movement and it was implemented to the letter nation wide and this writer was affected at the then AGC Ltd in March, 1980, not until the second coming of Rawlings on 31st December 1981 that the then AGC management quickly re-instated all the 103 miners including this writer – Do you see how cowards operate now? The rest is History, Therefore Ex-President Rawlings had done alot for Ghana, and 98% of Ghanaians voted for the NDC in 2008 because of Rawlings, if we throw this man away in 2012, the NDC will be in hell. We must know that the NDC can never use money to buy Ghanaians at all because, they can vote against the NDC even if we buy votes – if you doubt it ask the NPP which spent ¢47million cedis in the 2008 general elections and lost bitterly.
Dear reader, I am serious, it is not a joking matter at all. We have a Ghanaian proverb which says that if you don’t respect the Paramount Chief of your town and you decide to always insult him – can you fight on behalf of your chief. No, you can’t, because you showed them that your chief is weak. They may use the same way to even cause your chief’s death and posterity will never forgive you at all. If Rawlings does not change his ways the cadres will call him to order by changing him. Cadres have acquired ENOUGH ENEMIES, so Rawlings must not add more enemies on them. A Neo-colonial state apparatus cannot defend a revolution like the price loaded action on 31st December, 1981. Jerry Rawlings is fully aware of that but he staged that extreme sacrificial revolution where we all spent three quarters of our lives to defend for 10 solid years. We joined the revolution with “Charliewates” and returned with bare feet, the unlucky ones paid dearly with their lives, so what at all does Rawlings want from an Honest President like Professor Mills. If you did not give us anything and President Mills has decided to reward cadres, why are you now trying to rock the boat in a stormy weather on High Seas when 2012 general elections are just around the corner? Do you want cadres to sacrifice once again and die as complete paupers? As for this one, we not go sit down and allow you to destroy your own good work and that of the cadre corps at all this time around. President Mills have been vilified, mocked and described as a sickler amidst unprintable words, but who in this world have never been sick? If he is sick, cadres are prepared to carry him on a wheel chair and campaign with an air craft nation wide to win the 2012 general elections because he has suffered too much and was treated with disdain by the NPP for far too long, and at times Electricity were disconnected to prevent him from talking to the people on his campaign trail but God helped us to win the 2009 general elections, the President must therefore must be left alone to enjoy the fruits of his Hand Labour by completing his 8 years term in office.
The country’s administration did not support the 31st December Revolution and so the Ghanaian Intellect did not want to co-operate with the revolutionary governments of the AFRC and the PNDC in 1979 and 1981. And the Progressive Forces had wanted to see all the leading members of the Danquah Busia Tradition and their junior ones to also get the taste of the bitter
torture, naked injustice, daylight robbery, smuggling, profiteering, extra judicial killings of innocent men, women and children on 24th February, 1966 when Ghana’s first bloody coup was staged by the Danquah Busia politicians using Co 1. Kotoka and Brigadier Africa and backed by the dreaded C.I.A of America. The above were the actual ranks of those Ghanaian traitors before the 1966 coup.
Comrade Rowling will be left completely ALONE if he refuse to listen to his cadres since he taught the cadres NOT to support corrupt acts and dishonest people blindly. Do you now expect cadres to support you blindly for openly insulting the President in public? No – it won’t happen.
ROWLINGS IS TRYING TO DESTROY HIMSELF – PLEASE CEASE FIRE AND STOP IT. If Atta Mills is Bad, Rawlings is Worse and if Atta Millis is Worse, then Rawlings is the Worst because you cannot monitor him to become President and later turn against him whose fault is it now.
As cadres, we are assuring President Mills to focus on his Better Ghana Agenda and leave Rawlings in the hands of his OWN CADRES because if you treat somebody like a dog for too long, he will bark at you, so cadres are now ready to bark at Rawlings in the way he trained us. How can you destroy your own chosen candidate – Who Born Dog? President Mills promised Ghanaian children free school uniforms and the uniforms are being supplied alongside free exercise books; we are now blessed with a single digit inflation rate. Why won’t you give the President a room to operate no matter your bitterness. You must do to others what you want others to do unto you. When you launched the 31st December Revolution, the People’s Defense Committee (P. D. C’s) were teased and described as Pigs, Dogs and Cats by the Professional Bodies and the Ghana Bar Association in this country. In September, 1984, the P.D.C’s were renamed Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (C.D.R’s) and these same Professional Bodies described the cadres as Cats, Dogs and Rats again.
Therefore the cadres went to HELL and back before we reached this far. All those who insulted us in that manner have rather gained immensely from the very revolution they loved to hate and if the lucky cadres are still around with No place to even lay their heads and we have been described by our relatives as FOOLS, we are no more ready to be called FOOLS by our various families this time around. We must gain from our patriotism and nothing else. If you don’t stop attacking the President whom you selected in 1996 a midst bitter protests by the cadres, we shall continue to open more Revolutionary friendly fire on you continuously until you stop and behave properly as a Senior Ex-President and Statesman or risk being left alone to cry your own cry in this country. No right thinking Ghanaian including your own cadres will support you to insult the President ANY MORE. At 63 years, are you telling cadres to return to the Popular Nonsense days of 1982 again in a democratic dispensation like ours? No, you must use diplomacy or SUFFER IN the hands of your own cadres. We are calling to order now and we further command you to stand at attention. Fall in line and stop INSULTING the President in public is that clear?
Will you agree to our request or not? Let us know in a week’s time. Thousands of cadres including this writer risked and sacrificed their lives in the early years of the revolution honestly believing that Ghana would be a better and safe place with equal opportunities for all Ghanaians. Several cadres perished in the early years of the revolution in 1982 fighting corruption but when Ex-president Kufour was in power he decorated dwarfs, drug addicts and even nation wreckers with the Order of the Volta Civil Division – Nobody thinks of cadres hence our friendly advice to you because people who are not even qualified enough to polish your shoes and that of your wife continue to insult you freely and we can’t defend – An NPP Journalist recently described you as semi-illiterate in the pages of the “ Ghanaian Chronicle” and suggested that you sould have been killed by now as if you did nothing for Ghana. Could such a political novice and tribal bigot like Mr. Kofi Akosah Sarpong the journalist in question have the guts to insult you that way if you have not INSULTED the President in public? Keep your fingers crossed I will be back with the final article.

THE CASE OF THE TWO PATRIOTIC “CRIMINALS”
During the December 7th Presidential and Parliamentary Elections, two unfortunate incidents took place and the alleged suspects were both arrested and detained briefly by the police and released upon the intervention of several prominent personalities including 3 sitting Members of Parliament who all flew by air to Tamale and Kumasi upon hearing the arrest of these two personalities in the country.
The first suspect whose name I will not disclose was released by two sitting MPs at Tamale and incidentally one of the MP is from the camp of the NPP whilst the other MP comes from the NDC camp. For the purpose of this article, I will call the suspect Mr. Peace who is a floating voter and a very prominent farmer who commands the respect of the residents and the youth in a vast farming community. He owns thousands of cattle, sheep, goats and hundreds of fowls. In that community, if he comes across two people accusing each other of stealing one’s animal, he will separate them by asking the one whose animal got missing to come for its replacement from his house whether the lost animal is a goat, sheep or even a cow he would replace it to ensure peace in that community because he hates fighting and bloodshed since he was in the Republic of Rwanda in 1994 when that country’s 100 days genocide took place. In fact he is a philanthropist who is loved by all in that community. So during the Presidential Run-Off in 2009, there was a heavy turn out of voters with only one female prison officer and a policeman and this man Mr. Peace was riding his motor bike passing through that polling station. Around 4pm he saw people fighting near the ballot box. He quickly picked the ballot box and tied it at the back of his motor bike and rode away and kept it in his room to avoid any fighting he thought it was the best way of preventing the fighting.
According to him, he did that to separate the two factions in order to avoid bloodshed which he saw with his naked eyes in Rwanda in 1994. The case was reported to the police and he was picked around 4.15pm before he (himself) even cast his vote. The votes were counted and the NPP won at the polling station before the police interrogated the suspect and he stated that he first voted for (Giwa) Hausa word for the elephant on December 7th 2008 for Nana Akufuraddo in his own words. He stated that during the Run-Off, he voted for (LEEMA) Hausa word for the Umbrella, Atta Mbils as he pronounced it meaning that he was an illiterate floating voter who did not support any political party but he supported the two sitting MPs of the NPP and NDC that was why they both rushed to Tamale by air to ensure that he was quickly released and that was it because he had no bad intention of snatching that ballot box it was only that he did that to avoid bloodshed. When he was asked the reason why he voted differently one for the NPP and one for the NDC, he said that, the NDC won 8 regions that was why he did so. The second “patriotic criminal” was Lover Man, not his real name. He is a very successful businessman in Kumasi but a stark illiterate. He speaks Twi, Ga and Hausa only. This man met a very beautiful young woman who was a final year student at KNUST in Kumasi and proposed that he loved her and this lady was proving very difficult. The man told her that he was a very rich “criminal” who goes to the U.S, U.K, Japan, Italy and Germany to conduct his “Criminal” activities. Unknown to the young woman, this illiterate man was telling her that he was a very rich and successful businessman. When the lady questioned him that the police will arrest him for being a criminal, the man retorted that how could he be a genuine “criminal” who did nothing wrong and the police will arrested him. He again boasted that he has been doing his “criminal” activities since the PNDC era under Jerry Rawlings who even awarded him with National Honours in 1996 for his “criminality”. The lady was scared and politely asked him to wait for her, she went behind a building and dialed some Senior police officer at the Regional C.I.D in Kumasi with her cell phone who quickly came and picked both of them to the police station, and within a twinkle of an eye, the police station was choked with flashy 4 x 4 vehicles including an MP to request for his release on bail.
This man has never committed any crime, he is a genuine businessman who pays all his taxes and was once honored by J. J. Rawlings in 1996. As an illiterate he had wanted to convince the lady with his immense wealth by telling her that he was a rich “criminal” instead of saying that he was a rich businessman who travels to the U.K, U. S, Italy, Germany and Japan for international business transactions.
Nevertheless, the police did their work professionally as they brought in the SFO IRS, the BNI who did thorough investigations and initially thought that he was a drug baron only to find out that he did not even know either cocaine or heroin since all his taxes were paid to the state up to date and the property rates of his numerous houses were also paid to the K. M. A. Electricity and water bills were also paid and yet the continued telling the police officers that he is a very strong and rich genuine “criminal” who could not ever be arrested by the police because of his genuine “criminal” activities. He was however freed after thorough investigations into his background and the MP and several prominent opinion leaders sat him down and explained to him that the word criminal means that he is a thief, and armed robber, narcotic peddler, murderer and a rapist who must be arrested by the police and put before court to be jailed and kept away from law abiding citizens before Mr. Lover Man came back to his senses and shouted Hausa “SUBAHAANA ALA HI”. This is a true story of two innocent and illiterate law abiding citizens one of whom would have been sent to court to be given long sentences for their ignorance and mis-use of some incriminating English words that he did not understand.
Meanwhile the Non-formal Education Division of the Ministry of Education has taken up the case of Mr. Lover Man the businessman who described himself as a “criminal” in order to convince that beautiful University Student from the KNUST but ended up being arrested by the police after he rather put her off-with the term “rich criminal”. This is a big lesson to others and we must NOT speak languages that we do not understand. The NFED has started classes for Mr. Lover Man the businessman who ignorantly described himself as a rich and strong “criminal” in Kumasi – God bless you.
