By their fruits, you shall know them. What people know you for, is what they will say of you. True or False? No one will deny that it is true. So, Nana Akuffo-Addo, you saying that, you are the most vilified or insulted politician is erroneous. It looks as if Nana Akuffo-Addo is not taking stock of what the New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications team and he himself say on the airwaves and political platforms as well as in the media.
Seriously speaking, let us not delve deeply into this. But let’s take only the two rallies organized by both the NPP and NDC at the Mantse Agbonaa a few weeks ago and see who is more vilified. Nana Akuffo-Addo should sit down and listen carefully to the tapes of both rallies, the speeches made by himself and the other NPP members like Kennedy Agyapong and former President Kuffour, and truthfully compare it with that of the NDC speakers especially President J. E. A. Mills. Was Nana Addo not on the dais when Kennedy Agyapong called the President of the Republic the number one thief and therefore, he was jail bound? For me,that was the biggest insult of the century(He claimed to have apologized on condition). Ex-President Kuffour also said all sort of nonsense on the same platform that, there was nothing good that can come out of President Mills and the NDC. Did Nana Akuffo-Addo reprimand Kennedy Agyapong, Ex-President Kuffour or any of those who spoke that day?
Nana Akuffo-Addo himself said, President Mills has no integrity and no record to show. Upon all what President Mills has done in 3 years as compared to the 8 years of NPP, Nana Addo had the guts to say that, the President has no record to prove. These are concocted lies and Nana Addo must know that lies are insults because if you lie against someone, you have not only tarnished the image of that person but also insulted the integrity of that person.
On the other hand, if you listen to the speakers of the NDC at their rally, there was nothing insulting. The speakers were only calling a spade, a spade. You cannot see a spade and say it’s a shovel. They were only laying bare, the facts. I don’t know why Nana Akuffo-Addo is complaining of vilification at all. Is Nana Addo telling us that, if any of his daughters did something wrong, he will not reprimand or talk to her about it? I am sure he will. So, if he, Nana Addo fondles his fellow man’s wife, must we say kudos to him? If Nana Addo urinates on the wall of a mosque, must we applaud him? Why does Nana Addo call these plain truths vilification? Yes, someone can do these things and get away with them but certainly not a presidential aspirant. What kind of precedence is he trying to set for the generations to come?
Honestly speaking, when you look at both rallies of the NDC and the NPP, comparatively, the NDC was the most vilified because the NPP resorted to wild lies and insults on the NDC especially on the President. Therefore, my candid advice to Nana Akuffo-Addo is that, he should first clean the dirt in his house before advising someone to clean his. It is rather unfortunate that, the NPP chose the wrong candidate as their flag bearer and keep defending the indefensible.
NDC all the way.
