While the former Ghanaian government, the NDC, under President John Mahama cut many sods and executed projects which today many are being choked by weeds and bushes, Akufo Addo continues to cut sods even though many of the previous projects haven’t been built.
Each day comes with a publication that “President Nana Akufo Addo cuts sod," for this or that but the question that remains unanswered is what about all the promises and already sod cuts for several projects which none has been built? What kind of politics or games is the NPP playing?
Nobody forces someone to become a politician or a president, however, if you choose to be one, you must understand that you have responsibilities to take care of.
The needs of the people and developments are the major goals for every politician that cares about the welfare of the people. Once you fail as a government means you have other plans, which appear to be corruption.
Just yesterday, August 31, 2021, after several sods cutting which many haven’t been done, it appeared in the news that “Akufo-Addo cuts sod for $145 million Borteyman Sports Complex for the African Games 2023,” when Ghanaians have already lost confidence in the president.
Below are a few projects that Akufo Addo promised to build, which were never made. “Oforikrom Interchange, Suame Interchange, Afari Military Hospital, Bekwai Roundabout Interchange, Uncompleted KNUST Teaching Hospital, Kumawu Hospital, Krofrom Market, Tanoso Dual-Carriage Road, and many others the media failed to publish.
These are some previous sod-cutting projects also by Nana Akufo Addo which haven’t been done includes Kejetia Market Phase 2 Project, Bonakra In Land Port Continuation, Kumasi-Obuasi railway, Maternity Block at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kumasi Conference Centre, and many others.
While all these promises weren’t fulfilled and projects weren’t built, does the NPP think Ghanaians are stupid to believe whatever they say?
What we are witnessing in Ghana today is political incompetence and corruption. To me, the NPP came to increase corruption, not to fight it, therefore, it’s time for Ghanaians to show them the way to leave the political arena.
