Nana Akufo-Addo is an embodiment of violence

I heard Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (N.P.P) condemned violence in recent time as if he is an epithet of peace. Indeed, the butterfly assumed himself a bird.

The claim by Nana Akufo-Addo that H. E. John Dramani Mahama, the president of the Republic of Ghana is working with violent men is the biggest joke of the century.

In 2015, he came to the University for Development Studies, Navrongo Campus for NPP TESCON programme when I was NDC TEIN president and preached a very terrible message by asking Ghanaians to make sacrifices like the people of Ivory Coast did some years ago and that "a country smaller in size and population compared to Ghana, which had endured bloody dispute in their last election, resulting in the loss and displacing of thousands of lives, had, in a short period, turned around their fortunes. We can do same thing here in Ghana. That is the vision that I am asking you to buy into," he added. This message was sidelined by the media and the so-called High Commissioners and Ambassadors.

Simply, he wants Ghanaians to flow blood for him to fulfill his childhood dream of becoming president "at all cost." It is also pertinent to note that happenings in NPP today, showed Nana Akufo-Addo still has monopoly over violence and poised to plunge this country into chaos. Former NPP Regional Chairman in the Upper East Region, Mr. Adams Mahama was hideously bathed with toxic acid and died painfully, all because of Nana Akufo-Addo's reckless and leaderless character.

Not too long ago, his thugs fired warning shots with unregistered guns in the presence of police commandant. How can someone looking for the highest office of the land be presiding over such gross lawlessness. We were all in this country when the invisible forces of Nana Akufo-Addo attacked suspended General Secretary of the NPP and destroyed his private car at the NPP headquarters.

The Bolga Bulldogs and Nana Akufo-Addo's invisible forces have turned NPP headquarters into a battlefield and today, the likes of Baah Acheamfour, Dr. Authur Kennedy, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe can't step their feet to their headquarters for reasons known to the whole world. We don't need a rocket scientist to tell us Nana Akufo-Addo's DNA when it comes to chronic divisiveness and violence.

Historically, all the NPP National Officers including Mr. Paul Afoko, Kwabena Agyapong, among several other leading members of the party who spoke against Nana Akufo-Addo have been grotesquely suspended through lawless and dubious means. Abubakar Saddique, a former loyalist of the NPP in the Asawase Constituency met his untimely death, all because of "Nana and Afoko war."

The divisive and violent man has totally tormented the unity former President John Agyekum Kufuor fought for in NPP. So his claim over violence in recent time is not only misleading and hypocritical but it is also deadly in the face of democracy. "He who seeks equity must come with clean hands," You can't call for peace and still keep notorious thugs with deadly ammunitions in your house and turn your party headquarters into "Cambodian killing field."

Honestly, Nana Akufo-Addo has exhibited a high level of hypocrisy over his shameless condemnation of violence, he does such declaration in pretence for support from some western powers. The man is making noise because the race is now out of his hand, Ghanaians are very cautious of history and will never allow any confused element to take the country back. Any "hopeless fool" can declare "all die be die" in election season knowing very well that we ought to condemn violence and prevent such deadly traps. The "at all cost mantra" is a threat to national security and ought to be condemned too. Somebody wants to be called a Saint in town, when indeed, he is more than Goliath.

The well-known NPP goliath has destroyed the party completely and want to add Ghanaians to his agenda. For us in the NDC there is no way we will sit aloof for him to destroy this country. It is only in Nana Akufo-Addo's leadership that a Regional Chairman can slap a Parliamentary Candidate and go scot free without any condemnation from him. Today, this man got the gut to call President Mahama to order, if not for hypocrisy, then somebody needs a serious attention.

My worry is not about Nana Akufo-Addo's call for a violent free election, I am worried because of his records when it comes to violence. Not even the Pope can convince me to trust someone who was caught with drug in Oxford University that led to his dismissal from that prestigious school.

We can't entrust the destiny of this country into the hands of such dangerous character and I know, surely, Ghanaians will support us put this country ahead of any short brain. We won't give this country to any confused element to put us astray. The September 7 election had already been won by Nana Akufo-Addo in the "Republic of Nima."

This is where Ghana politics has gotten to, a whole Presidential Candidate got confused over election date. Former President Kufuor in his 2008 State of the Nation Address stated categorically that, since 2001, the NPP government constructed 1000 km feeder roads, rehabilitated 4,800 km, did 10,000 spotting and 2,300 regravelling, built 84 bridges and 500 km side drains.

Opana also came out and shamelessly cooked his confused figures and declared that NPP government increased road network from 37,320 km to 67,291 km. Only a confused personality like Nana Akufo-Addo can hoist such dubious flag.

I am by the above utterances of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (N.P.P) sending a strong warning to the NPP to get back to the drawing board and begin to preach peace genuinely.

You can't eat your cake and have it, Nana Akufo-Addo is generally known for his reckless and bad leadership style. It is therefore, clear that such embodiment cannot rule this country peacefully. Ghanaians are looking for a humble and peaceful leader like H. E. John Dramani Mahama who is already developing the country through his massive improvement in social intervention and socioeconomic infrastructure investment.

The NPP and Nana Akufo-Addo have nothing new to offer Ghanaians than their usual deceitful and fake promises. These people promised to construct railway line from Accra through Kumasi to Paga, when Ghanaians voted for them they failed to construct even one (1) centimeter of the line. The NPP are yet to give jobs to the thousands (1000s) Ghanaians they summoned at Labour Office for employment when they won political power in eight (8) years.

They promised to industrialize the economy through establishment of factories, it became a fiasco in their eight (8) years in government. It took H. E. John Dramani Mahama to revitalize NPP's Ayensu Sugar Factory after few years of its establishment.

Today, Akufo-Addo is promising "one district one factory," l leave it here for Ghanaians to decide on December 7.

Signed

Mordey Yaw David, former TEIN President, UDS Navrongo Chapter.
