Nana Ohene Ntow And Yarn Spinning

Nana Ohene Ntow’s diatribe in the Daily Graphic (10 Aug. 2007) against the NDC and his infantile attempt to defend the insulting words of Kufuor, that dullard of a president at Tema amount to a double assault, more insults and throwing of dust into the eyes of Ghanaians. It is most shameful.

It has been the trademark of this goon of a General Secretary to maximize any available opportunity to paint his opponents in bad lights while hiding under democracy.

It is bad to twist a self explanatory statement to suit one’s whims and caprices but it’s most disgraceful to justify it when the meaning is obvious to all.

Well the background of the story is that there was an NPP rally at Tema to commemorate the 15th Anniversary of the party and President Kufuor in his drunken state spewed foul words out of his mouth telling us to go to hell if by September “31” (apologies to Oboshie Sai Coffie) they have not been able to solve the energy problems.

He emphatically said “won beye yen den, won ntumi nye yen hwee” (what can they do to us, they can’t do us anything). It is interesting to hear a President who is supposed to be the father of all in Ghana insulting those who made him what he is today.

Of course we cannot do them anything because the era of coups is gone. Second, we made the most serious mistake of voting fools to power. That is the incontrovertible truth.

By that devilish statement, Kufuor has insulted the intelligence of Ghanaians because it was not only the NPP faithful who voted him to power. It went beyond the NPP. His ascending the throne went beyond the effort of one party. It was an all-Ghanaian affair.

So such foul statement that Ohene Ntow is fighting to launder and twist has caused regrets in the hearts of many who rooted for change in 2000.

According to Nana Ohene Ntow and his shameless NPP goons, what Kufuor said was to reassure Ghanaians that the era of threats, unlawful arrests and killings of political opponents that characterized the PNDC/NDC era would never be allowed to rear its ugly head again. Fair and square!.

It is most interesting that such statement would come from the NPP. Alhaji Isa Mobila’s death did not occur in PNDC/NDC era but in the era of the NPP’s democratic government where “good governance” is trumpeted to high heavens. Mobila belonged to the CPP so directly he was a political opponent of the NPP. He was not killed in the warfront, he was murdered in NPP’s custody in a time of democracy.

In the understanding of Ohene Ntow “the straight forward statement by President Kufuor had been quoted out of context by the NDC. I am surprised we are having to explain and debate this issue, because what the President said was self explanatory”.

It will be very foolish on our part not to understand that this statement is self explanatory. We do not need a soothsayer or prophet to interpret what he said at Tema. After all the prophets themselves are corrupted.

And the President has been magnanimous enough to use “dignified words”. Ghanaians are fools and can therefore not do them anything. They can afford to do what they like and get away with it, howbeit momentarily. But accountability is the twin brother of time.

Ntow said the President was explaining the philosophy of the NPP with such insolent words. WONDERFUL!

The philosophy of the NPP is “do or say what you like, you are not accountable to those who elected you to power”. This explains why the nonchalant attitude of this bunch of rogues goes unchallenged and has become unbearable.

The philosophy is to allow an ugly nincompoop like the so called Sheikh I.C. Quaye to insult our sensibilities by asking us to “yaaye onye” (go screw your mother).

I am not so worried about I.C Quaye and his animal talk because he is after all uneducated. So he can act in a crude manner the way he did.

But for an acclaimed Oxford trained Lawyer Diawuo Ataa Ayi Kufuor to publicly throw decorum to the dogs and spew such foul unforgiveable words out of his mouth calls for concern.

It is unfortunate to have a dunce as president of an intellectually inclined nation like Ghana and indeed disastrous to sit unconcerned and allow these stupid men to take us for fools.

Where are the civil societies and the men of God who made so much noise in the days of the NDC? Are they aware of the current happenings in Ghana? Do they not know the President’s uncouth behavior is a shame to all of us?

I am not surprised about their pronounced silence because they prayed prayers which were neither here nor there. So it will be embarrassing to them to now chastise their choice of leader.

After supporting the disgraced Kufuor to power it was sweet and gladdening that he rebuffed and disrespected their views during the ROPAB hullabaloo. I believe the men of God are silent because they never thought they were praying for cocaine dealers to come power.

I believe also that ROPAB is one of the reasons they have been dumb because of the shame that engulfed them. There are many other reasons because they did not like Rawlings. So if men who are supposed to be the oracles of God and the nation are silent why wont deceitful men like Nana Ohene Ntow defend evils as good. This is why they bamboozled Ghanaians with vain promises and deceived the uninformed that they are the best thing that ever happened to Ghana.

It is now quite obvious when you consider the wanton dissipation of our funds by Kufuor in the name of a presidential palace, the 50th anniversary celebration and many more that there was a hidden agenda unknown to us in 2000 when elections took place.

It is also without doubt that there was equally a hidden agenda behind our joining the HIPC. The sinister motive was to build a few public toilets and schools, sink bore holes here and there and divert the chunk of money into private pockets.

The motivation was money. The yardstick for measuring HIPC’s success was the amount you could grab to fill your dirty pocket. It had nothing to do with our poverty but had to do with the avarices of a thieving few.

Ghana, at the time HIPC was forced on us wasn’t so poor as to join this disgraceful outfit. The foreign supervisory or overseeing body for HIPC gave us a clean bill of health that we had used the funds judiciously.

But what they did not know was the way projects were awarded and executed. What they were not told was the hyper-inflated contracts and the subsequent kickbacks that flowed into the Castle and officials private bank accounts to augment their ostentatious lifestyles.

If there is a party of mischief makers, it is Ntow’s NPP. Ghana has never experienced such narcotics disgrace as in this present political dispensation under Kufuor and his Narcotics Peddlers Party (NPP).

They have raised dust and we will feed them with it. We will return fire for fire, foul words for foul words and put them where they belong.

Henceforth Kufuor should regard himself as president of a section of Ghanaians who believe in his style of governance. My kind of president will not use vulgar language under the influence of alcohol and cocaine.

Ohene Ntow said the NDC are a bunch of mischief makers, insinuating also that ex President Rawlings came to power by accident to intimidate the citizenry without having any philosophy.

We will not argue with him because ever before Rawlings came to the political scene, the Danquah-Busia tradition gave birth to bomb throwing, mischief and intimidation. If there is any accidental discharge from the gun or barrel of democracy it is Kufuor.

Mischief does not only mean “playful misbehavior”, it also means “harm or trouble caused by someone or something”. If students don’t have hostels, energy problem has caused the demise of both men and companies, and people have to walk long distances for water to drink, have they (Ntow and his gang) not caused enough mischief as to warrant an uprising?

Ohene Ntow was quoted to have said “NDC has (have) nothing to offer Ghanaians, what they can do best is to create social tension where there is none and unnecessarily raise the political temperature of Ghana through fear and intimidation.”

NDC bequeathed to NPP many legacies they are using today. It is pride and shame that won’t allow them to concede to that fact.

It will be doubtful if Ohene Ntow has not read the “Mate meho” history of his party’s forebears. Having engaged himself in twaddle and twisting of facts, he wants to present his master, the disgrace called Kufuor as an honorable man who should be taken seriously even when he goofs.

Perhaps Ntow needs to be told that a pile of guns was seized in Kufuor’s house after he had won the 2000 elections. This confirms his earlier threats at Techiman that if they lost there would be mayhem in Ghana.

What was Kufuor doing with those guns? Was he a gun runner? Ntow should answer that. Did Ntow not know that Rawlings did not arrest Kufuor because he didn’t want to be seen as opposed to NPP’s victory? Was he not aware that this singular act of Rawlings maintained the peace in Ghana?

Why can’t these rogues credit Rawlings with some intelligence and stop calling him a mischief maker?

Again Rawlings while in power never recruited mischievous journalists to do any image laundering. In fact the vibrant Kwesi Pratt Jnr. always took J.J. to task compelling the then President to declare his respect for Mr. Pratt

That is a Journalist who can always lift his head high because he cannot be bought with money.

Ntow and his master should bow their heads in shame for buying some so called senior journalists and engaging them in mischief making. People like Kwaku Baako Jnr. don’t deserve to be accorded the respect journalists deserve.

His factious stand against the NDC and his factitious brand of investigative journalism make him a hugely suspicious character who himself deserves to be investigated. Can’t we demand to know how much of the taxpayers money has been expended on this shady character?

Why has he chosen this devilish path so that when the NPP mess up he twists facts to equate with the era of the NDC?

Indeed Ntow is a man with an already dented image even to his own party men. He is highly notorious in his own constituency so for him to cover his nefarious nature and activities to advance his argument that NDC are mischievous is interesting.

For his information the sword of DAMOCLES is hanging on their heads and nemesis is crawling gradually towards them to extract its pound of flesh.

Ntow and his drunkard master should look themselves in the mirror of probity. They will be shocked by what they will see.

These are men who mount political platforms and use vulgar language and yet have the audacity to label others as mischievous.

Twenty two men are vying for the standard bearer position of the NPP trivializing the presidency. To them that is no mischief. The seat of government has been so cheapened that even the insane are bidding for it.

NPP are vigorously purloining our resources and believe there must be continuity so everybody is bidding to rule Nkrumah’s Ghana.

Ntow’s mendacious NPP want to remain in power through overt or covert means so the stage is set for a showdown in 2008 between the forces of darkness and the army of truth. We will see the end of this falsehood and evil.

Just as in the biblical times we will meet the Balaams (NPP) and they will be “slaughtered” in 2008. Mark my words.

Spin doctor Ntow, we all know is a man with an opprobrious personality who sees nothing good in people with opposing views. Does he think Ghanaians are not aware that the NPP is a party of charlatans and drug peddlers?

If within the nearly seven years of Kufuor’s misrule, Ghana has become the conduit pipe of the drug business what guarantee do we have that we shall not become the Columbia of Africa under this insane NPP party?

Why is it that no member of any of the opposition parties in Ghana has been arrested for drug trafficking but only children of NPP leaders and some of the leaders themselves languishing in jail?

Are the NPP stalwarts happy that their party is called NARCOTICS PEDDLERS PARTY? Are they pleased wearing this disgraceful and despicable garment? Nana Ohene Ntow must answer that.

After all he has eyes to identify mischief makers.
