IN 2010 in the Volta region, there are people drinking and bathing in water that Cows urinate and defecate in. When is Dr. Atta Mills going to work on this? Where is the justice for these poor people who are suffering? The answer is simple; Atta Mills does not care about Ghanaians. Some may have a beat skip in their little hearts but, the truth is sometimes bitter.

Since coming to power Dr. Atta Mills has yet to present a comprehensive water policy for the whole nation. All he has done and continues to do is give us bandages to put over a festering sore. Namely, there is no comprehensive plan to FIX the water situation in the country just short fix solutions. Atta Mills stays in the castle and, whenever he is challenged he simply says the problem was there before.

For how much longer shall this administration continue to use the excuse of “it was there before” to continue in inaction? Do these guys actually believe that they were voted in because of their “good looks”? The people of Ghana expect MOVEMENT and ACTION. Sadly, Dr. Atta Mills simply does not care.

The saddest part of this story is the fact that this is a problem in the whole nation and, not only the Volta region. This suggests that this is a systemic problem and, the inaction by the government proves that the status quo is okay with them. Thus, when is the government going to wake up? I think I know how to wake them up.

Atta Mills should be forced to live in an environment like this. Surely, if he is drinking and bathing in water that animals poop and urinate in he will have the urgency needed to tackle the problem. Move him to a disadvantaged rural area and, allow him to govern from there. Surely he will then understand what leadership is really about. Namely, leadership is about understanding the plight of your people and, having comprehensive plans on how to fix the problem.

Leadership is not about driving the biggest car or, driving the newest car, leadership is about the biblical idea that IF ONE SHEEP IS LOST, EVERY THING IS LOST. Namely, if a whole village/group of people is suffering then, all of us are suffering also. Remember that we will be judged by how we treat the LEAST amongst us.

Dr. Mills, do what you were elected to do instead of wasting time and, threatening “sabotagers” like you did during the may day celebration. No one is trying to sabotage you; you are sabotaging yourself with in action.
