Dear Sir,

CALL KWADWO MPIANI TO ORDER OR DISTANCE YOURSELF FROM HIS ANTI-AKUFO-ADDO COALITION

I pray you are in good health, especially in your old age. Not many people receive the blessing of long life as you have received from God, and it is my prayer that He continues to bless you.

Sir, I am sure you hear this a lot but you serve as a role model to many young people including myself. Your achievements as an elderly statesman of Ghana and a tower figure in the NPP puts you in a very unique position. But Sir, recently certain people have sought to cause disaffection towards you, and this worries me greatly. I believe your legacy should be guarded jealously and no one should be allowed to use your name for their own selfish gain while in the process tarnishing your hard earned reputation.

Sir, one person I think you should call to order immediately is your former Chief of Staff, Kwadwo Mpiani. Mr. Mpiani is believed by many, including myself, to be the mastermind behind the shenanigans going on within the NPP. And Sir, slowly but surely, he is making you the most hated person in NPP and among floating voters. You see, I know you feel as if you are not respected enough within the NPP but I can assure you that that feeling is not substantiated. I believe NPP members from both sides love you and would be willing to sacrifice their lives to defend your legacy but they need to know that you are in it with them.

Sir, it is very possible that you may not have instructed Mr. Mpiani to do some of the things he is doing or say something of the things he says. However, many people within the NPP and the general Ghanaian public think otherwise. We see Mr. Mpiani as an extension of you and that whatever he does has your blessing. I, personally, refuse to believe that general perception however my belief or non-belief is shaky. The perception out there is that by commission or omission, you subtly encourage those who have formed a coalition, championed by Mr. Mpiani, to prevent Akufo-Addo from taking his place in the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition as President of Ghana.

Sir, we all know how well Akufo-Addo served you during your years as President, and how much he respects you and the advice you give him. In fact, I recently saw pictures of you on Akufo-Addo's birthday and I admired them greatly. I also read a recent press release from Akufo-Addo's office assuring the public that he was on good terms with you. I found that press release unnecessary as the pictures told a perfect story of the relationship between the two of you but the mere fact that he found the need to issue such a press release gives me cause to worry.

Sir, I know it is not my place but may I plead with you to get on board the train for change traveling around the country? I am not asking you to declare your support for any presidential aspirant but it would help if you could distant yourself from the anti-Akufo-Addo coalition led by Mr. Mpiani. The truth of the matter is that the mood of the country is just like the year 2000 when you were elected as President, or even better for the NPP. The people of Ghana want Nana Akufo-Addo to lead the NPP to power. But we cannot side step democracy in the process; so presidential primaries must take place to elect a presidential candidate for the NPP.

Sir, Ghanaians want NPP to come to power. We are tired of this incompetent government. We are suffering, and we expect the NPP to put their house in order as quickly as possible so that we can back them to take our country back from the corrupt NDC government. Ghanaians will not forgive the NPP if they are unable to win the 2016 elections. And in particular, Ghanaians will not forgive the Mpiani-led coalition if the NPP does not win power. Sir, I hesitate to say this but it must be said. We will not forgive you if the Mpiani-led coalition directly or indirectly causes the NPP to lose the 2016 general elections unless you distance yourself from their wicked ways.

Sir, with utmost respect, I urge you to join all Ghanaians who believe NPP must come to power in 2016. I am certain that your very abled assistant, Frank Agyekum, will bring my letter to your attention. I continue to wish you the very best of health and pray that you lend your support and wisdom, as you have always done.
