Your Excellency, President Mills,
I want to use this meduim to congratulate you for the ascendency to the highest seat of the land.
On behalf of all loyal Ghanaians living in Italy I say good work done so far and if I may quote your own words from your second state of the nation address, I will say “so far, much better”.
Ghanaians living in Italy are concerned about why you have not appointed an Ambassador to the Republic of Italy, whiles almost all other foreign missions have theirs?
Today we hear this and tommorrow it is different about our ambassador designate, some even say you have appointed somebody already, if that is true, then why is that person not at post as at now?
The honourable new consular is doing a great work here but will need the support of an Ambassador.
I know that some Ghanaians living here indicated someone for your consideration to the position. I want to say you know what is good for us, but I am much interested in having an Ambassador at post irrespective of the gender, and soonest possible.
It is in your prerogative, as the president of the republic of Ghana to choose who ever you think can serve in a particular office, all that some concern Ghanaians, of whom I am one, are looking for, is a competent person to occupy such a strategic position, as early as possible, so as to strengthen the diplomatic relationship of these two great countries. I believe it will give the impetus for the Italian government to invest in our country in the areas of agriculture, technology, transport, education, health etc.
I know your government is blessed with variety of intellectuals and I hope you will appoint one of them to occupy the position in the shortest possible time.
Since your government is the listening type I hope Ghana will have an Ambassador in Italy soonest.
Thank you, your Excellency and may god bless you and your team
I wish you all the best.
