RE: How The NDC Is Undermining Ghana’s Economy

Arthur K You have seriously damaged your political future by not being who you are but rather decided to join an establishment that has lost credibility among many independent thinkers. If you want to regain some credibility you have to be mindful of the content in your writings. Remember that against the advice of some of us you went ahead to waste so much money just to gain only a single vote and that was just a vote by you for yourself. I have several questions for you regarding your assertion that Kuffour's ".. Effort was rewarded with significant debt forgiveness by Western countries and the World Bank, as well as with significant investments in Ghana’s economy." One thing that you failed to tell your audience (either intentional or unintentional) is how much debt did your NPP party and Chief Kuffour left Ghana with after the debt cancellation? What did Chief Kuffour's administration leave Ghana with? Pit latrines, presidential palace? Could this debt cancellation be compared with the biblical story robbing Peter to pay Paul?

It may be instructional for you to learn that those countries that you rely heavily on foreign investments have wisely used their resources to build infrastructures like good road networks, constant supply of electricity to power businesses and homes, decent public facilities, constant supply of water, etc. For 96 months in power why couldn't Chief Kuffour and his NPP complete Kumasi/Accra road, the single major road between two major cities in Ghana? Can you look into a mirror and tell us that Kuffour invested heavily in these infrastructures and the current government is undermining those investments?

Never deceive yourself as Ghana being the Gateway to Africa? It's very dishonest for you to believe that BS. That sign on the entrance to arrival hall at Kotoka is very disheartening. Is Ghana really the Gateway to Africa? What data are you using to come to that conclusion? Don't just quote something that is baseless? Remember that if you want to write an article for a wider audience you better get your facts right. The Oil deposit has always been around where they were found. God didn't deposit that OIL just because NPP came to power as Chief Kuffour once said that God has blessed Ghana with oil during his time. Kuffour just wanted to become a president with no vision just like Akuffo Addo who thinks it's his time even though there may be fine men in your party who may be more capable with better and modern ideas.

Now please tell me and the rest of the audience here on this forum and Ghanaians, what good does the oil find do for ordinary Ghanaians if those contracts signed by your NPP were not in the best interest of Ghanaians who are supposed to be the beneficiary of the proceeds from this oil? The EO group needs to be held accountable for their actions. Any sensible corporation or government will look into a deal that looks suspicious. If there is nothing to hide why can't the EO group make all their deals known to the Ghanaian public but rather hide behind lawyers? The day of reckoning is surely coming and there will be nowhere to hide.

My friend I am very much afraid that you are losing a lot of credibility and unless you stop these bogus articles you have been writing and go back to your practice (which you know very well that it's tough to making a living as a physician rather than a politician in Africa since there isn’t any free lunch or money in America you've got to work for it) you will continue to loose the support you enjoyed before joining NPP to deceive those who aren't sophisticated enough (of course you have every God given right to join any party you want to but please stop deceiving those who can't read and analyze data for facts).

Finally my friend you had 8 good years (96 months) in power and what else do you want? Just fighting for power for power sake and no vision for Ghana? What ideas did Chief Kuffour and your NPP people have that you couldn't implement in 8 years? Never think Ghanaians are fools. It's unfortunate that Atta Mills is not using his power to prosecute and imprison anyone found guilty of stealing from poor Ghanaians. If I were in power I will include you and investigate how you won that contract that earned you ~$30,000 without bidding for it although you claimed that you're the best and most qualified Ghanaian for that job. Please refute any allegations in this email.

Disclaimer: I am not an NDC sympathizer as you would naturally label me. I am and continue to be a staunch supporter of Nkrumah's vision for Ghana. I learn towards CPP because of their philosophy and vision

Thank you. Stephen Yeboah
