Columnist: Adofo, Rockson
I was shocked with the mouth drooped sadly when I chanced upon a publication on Ghanaweb on Wednesday, 29 January 2014. The publication was under the Feature Article column and was captioned, "Stop This Barbaric Impersonation, Coward!" ? In this said article, the author did not only accuse me of publishing an article in his name but he had the shameless audacious pomposity to run his mouth off; insulting and attacking my personality. ? I am going to set the record straight without spatting. I am the author of the said article –"Nana Akufo Addo To Listen To Only Two Voices Out Of The Four," that my fellow internet columnist (Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe, Jr., Ph.D.) alleges I attributed the authorship to him. ? I have never attributed the authorship of any of my published articles to anyone and will never do. I am old enough, more sensible and intelligent to own up to my acts, whether good or bad. I am proud of my articles, be they as they are. ? I am far older than Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe to behave irresponsibly by pretending to be him when publishing my views. What for? What is so special about him that I crave for that will compel me to pretend to be him? ? I have also never published an article about Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom in my life let alone, attributing its authorship to Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe as he alleged. ? In refuting any allegation accusing him of having written the article about Nana Akufo Addo, he could sensibly have referred the public and his fans to Ghanaweb, Modernghana and Spyghana where the article was published to ascertain the true identity of the writer themselves. As at the time that he was publishing his erroneous or misinformed rebuttal, the article was on the mentioned three websites with my name vividly indicated as the author. ? Where then did he find the article bearing his name as the author if indeed, he was not hallucinating as I am persuaded to believe? On the other hand, could any of the websites have initially made a mistake assigning his name to my mentioned article? Assuming the publishers had made a mistake which they had not, was he right to attack me without first querying or notifying the publishers? ? I do not want to take him on, descending into the gutter as he has done. I have to spare him insults, proving to him that two wrongs never make a right. Additionally, he could have drawn the attention of the publishers to any such act of impersonation if one had indeed occurred as alleged, asking them to correct it rather than insulting me, an innocent writer. ? Has he seen how he has tarnished his own reputation by his hasty reaction without a minute of cogitation? I hope he will cause the retraction of his article without much hesitation. He should bear in mind that he has attacked an innocent person for no justifiable reason. Why on earth would I attribute my article in which I was advising Nana Akufo Addo to him? Kwame, try to be more rational next time. ? Rockson Adofo
