Re: Govt's responsible for Solomey's death

It is ludiculous for anybody to suggest that government was responsible for the death of Mr. solomey, an ex-convicted criminal who was just pardoned by the president to cut his jail sentence short. At the very least, Mr. Bede Ziedeng should be grateful to government for the compassion that paved the way for Solomey to die gracefully at the hospital instead of in prison where he belongs.

I am reminding Mr. Ziedeng that if he had forgotten so soon, he should go back and refresh his memories of the 1980s when a number of people were jailed by PNDC (the God father of NDC) for embezzling various sums of monies belonging to the state, a charge that is equal in weight to causing financial loss to the state. Included in the numerous people convicted was my own brother in-law(name withheld) who subsequently suffered various illnesses resulting from the torture and the brutality metted out to him. All pleas to have him released for medical treatment at the hospital here in Ghana(Not Abroad) fell on death ears untill he died in prison and the family was contacted of his death.

I wish to remind Mr. Bede that, Victor Solomey was part of that government and did not consider it fit for convicts to be released on health grounds much less sent abroad for medical treatment to be footed by the government. What goes round always come around.

In a seperate but equally important incident, I would remind Mr. Ziedang that, if government has to consider people who have served the country in various capacities, and not watch them die, as he argued, irrespective of their offence against the state, If Ziedang is sincere and really thinks that this is or should be the norm, then he has to advice his party boss to apologise to the families of Gen Acheampong, Yaw Boakye, Akuffo and etc. who also served Ghana in no small ways but were not spared, neither had anybody in P/NDC thought it wise to offer a posthumous apology to those icons. In a strange twist of turn, the NDC wants everybody to forget about the past, about how they treated others badly, and want to be treated like Kings and Queens in Ghana's sociopolitical life. Look, I am not in anyway shape or form trying to be flippant or gloss over the painful death of Mr. solomey; no not at all, but to blame government for his death is absolute nonsense. Why not blame government for the offence he committed against the state? I will humbly advice NDC and all its suppoters to stop this unnecessary "blame it on NPP" game and focus on articulating sound policies to convince Ghanaians to vote for them the next time around.

How many votes have all these allegations brought to NDC?
