The growth of Ghana’s urban population is souring. Thus making the main cities in e congested when it comes down to transportation.
It appears long term better transportation system was not carefully considered back in 1870’s as compared to the way our former colonial mastered did in India.
Current urban transportation system
To date our current transportation system are mainly Trotro, taxis, buses and private. There is no real state own transportation apart of some few railways lines.
These may have been the development so far. However are these transportation systems significant?
Ghana is continuously working hard towards joining many successful developing countries who have creaming the results of effective tourism. If we are still aiming towards this goal then we have a lot of work to be done because tourists love travelling by public transportation system.
The innovation and advantage of Sky rail
If New York City managed to reinvent itself and improved better transportation using Sky rail system then why can’t Ghana also reinvent itself and introduce this innovative effective transportation system in our cities.
Some of the benefits are as follows.
There would be fewer accidents on main roads.
Fewer usages of cars on the roads
Idea is Non-invasive and existing land space could be used. It is free from Vandalism.
Heavy goods could be effectively and speedily transported from East to West within few hours.
People would be more productive at work
Employers would see their staff come to work and wanting to stay and give them quality service.
The Sky Rail technology
Sky Rail system is not new in some developed countries. Therefore there is no need to reinvent the wheel. These countries are proof that this is a do-able project.
The Government must strongly focus on better transportation if the Ghana wants to boost tourism from North to the East, East to West, North to the down South.
Conclusion:
The entire population would benefit, as people would be more mobile and knowing that travelling would be safer than just using Trotro or buses to work or for leisure.
This project is do-able so we certainly need to reinvent ourselves to stand out in the crowd.
