Reaction to 'Nketia would have been a super human if the NDC had won'

By: Network of Young Mentees of Bagbin

We, fellows of the Network of Young Mentees of Bagbin, NYMB Ghana, find it extremely repugnant and a mark of brazen hypocrisy for characters like Mr. Emmanuel Aboagye Didieye, former MP for Afram Plains North constituency, to be going round, on a premature campaign for votes towards the yet to be fixed national congress of the great NDC. He is falsely accusing and destroying the hard earned integrity of the very people who are selflessly reorganizing the party for victory 2020.

It is very ironical that Mr. Emmanuel Aboagye Didieye, who caused division within the party in his constituency, would on a Kumasi-based radio-Boss FM and published by mynewsgh.com, openly accuse our spotless mentors and unshakable anchors of the party, Hon. Alban S.K Bagbin and Hon. Johnson Aseidu Nketia, of contributing to the party’s regretted loss.

The obviously desperate and premature national congress campaigner who underperformed as MP and sorely lost his ticket of candidature at the 2015 NDC primaries to a more credible, competent, and truthful candidate, Ms Betty Crosby Mensah, should have been apologizing to the rank and file of the party. He wasted everybody’s time at the Supreme Court with an incompetent suit while the people he has accused were busily mobilizing votes for the party’s victory in the 2016 election.

Our mentor, Hon. Alban S.K Bagbin, who many affectionately call Leader1, because of his tried and tested distinct leadership personality, has once again successfully delivered the Nadowli/Kaleo constituency to the NDC for the seventh time. This is an unprecedented achievement for the NDC which was not achieved by chance. He is a man of conscience and integrity who is widely admired across the political divide, by both young and old, for his courage and bravery in speaking and standing by the truth.

His political maturity is crisp and never called to question. He speaks to correct. This is the reason why the former President, H. E. John Dramani Mahama, appointed him as one of the three wise men with the responsibility to implement the President’s special projects like the community senior high schools and many others. Hon. Bagbin also had the oversight responsibility to advise the President which he never reneged on. After completion of their task and a subsequent dissolution of The Three Wise Men ministry, the now Second Deputy Speaker of the Seventh Parliament, was again appointed by the President as Majority Leader and Leader of Government business in Parliament.

We therefore want to use this opportunity to correct Mr. Aboagye Didieye that the time Hon. Bagbin criticized the government, he was occupying a top notched ministerial position. It is therefore out of stack ignorance on the part of Mr. Aboagye Didieye to suggest that Hon. Bagbin’s mouth was sealed with an appointment and he stopped talking. Granted that Mr. Aboagye Didieye saw the wisdom in what Hon. Bagbin was saying about the government, did he come out to support him? Big no!

He remained the coward that he is, frightened by the noise and insults of small boys around the President. Where then lies his moral right to accuse Hon. Bagbin of silence? Did Hon. Bagbin need to be repeating himself every day? What did Aboagye Didieye himself say when he saw that things were not going on well? How does he understand the cliché, ‘a word to the wise is enough’?

The frustrated campaigner who is obviously struggling to revive his stressed political career after he was disqualified from contesting the national organizer position of the party by the NDC vetting committee for forgery, shamelessly accused Hon. Aseidu Nketia, and other national officers of the party, without any basis, of arrogance which in his miscalculations, affected the fortunes of the NDC in the 2016 general elections.

Mr. Aboagye Dideye failed to recognize and mention that, after the 2015 primaries, his aggressive refusal to concede defeat and the tag of war that he brought between him and the party’s elected, endorsed and sponsored parliamentary candidate, impacted negatively on the electoral fortunes of the party.

We hereby state that, Mr. Emmanuel Aboagye Didieye is still on the destructive mission that he started against the party at his constituency. He has ill motives against the unification drive that Hon. Aseidu Nketiah and his colleague elders are pursuing to bring the party back to power. We therefore call on all comrades of the great NDC to ignore Mr. Aboagye Didieye and rally behind Hon. Aseidu Nketiah and Hon. Bagbin and their colleague elders to reorganize the party for victory 2020.

Long live our mentors!! Long live the great NDC!!!! Long live Ghana!!!!!!!!
