Should mothers accept our mother's day wishes?

Mothers do more for their children everyday Mothers do more for their children everyday

Yes! Today is mother’s day,,,,,,piipiipiii huraaayyy

Historically, modern day of mother’s day was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother at St. Andrew’s Methodist church in Grafton, West Verginia. Her campaign to make mother’s day a recognized holiday in the united states of America began in 1905, the year her mother, Ann Reeves Jarvis died.

Ann Jarvis had been a peace activist who cared for wounded soldiers on both sides of the American civil war, and created mother’s day clubs, to address public health issues. Anna Jarvis wanted to honor her mother by continuing the work she started and to set aside a day to honor all mothers because she believed a mother is “the person who has done more for you than anyone in the world”.

Mother’s day can be seen as a holiday honoring the mother of the family as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society, that is observed in different forms throughout the world. Mother’s day 2018 occurs on Sunday May 13.

Every woman on this planet earth, is considered a mother because of their incomparable economic, social and more importantly, the reproductive role that they play in our society.

But a real mother is that woman who is responsibly married and has gone through all the frustrations, stress, pains and all other difficulties that are associated in the marital home. Has conceived, carried the pregnancy till the most agonizing day (delivery day), nurtured her child responsibly and all other good things you can think of.

The most uncomfortable moments of every good mother is when she sees her beloved children being ornery, defiant or badly behaved due to peer influence, intruding or the interlope of western cultures. Mothers will do their possible best to bring us on track. But with all these unbending or hardnosed efforts by our dear mothers to guarantee our success, do we really appreciate or value them?

I guess your answer is yes! But l wants us to reflect on the questions below:
When was the last time you called your mother? Compare it to how often you call you girlfriend or boyfriend

When was the last time you bought a phone for your mum? Compare it to that of your girlfriend or boyfriend

What type of phone does your mother use? Just compare it to your girlfriend's or boyfriend's

When was the last time you sent money to your mother? And even how much was it? Compare it to what you have being sending to your so called girlfriend or boyfriend

When was the last time you sent your mother out for shopping? But you do it every day with your girl or guy right?

When was the last time you ever thought of buying your mum a bicycle, motor or car? But your boyfriend or girlfriend is driving the latest car in town.

When was the last time you celebrated your mum’s birth day? But you are spending millions of cedis just to surprise your partner when your mother is on a sick bed!

Does it sound senseless?

Mmmmm!...... it can take me the whole day to compare and contrast but I leave the rest for you to add.

So, are we saying that we are proud of our mothers only on mother’s day where we manage to get their pictures on social media and describing them with big grammar when they cannot see it because their phones are ‘Yams’?

Our mothers deserve better than just wishing and describing them with big grammar.

STOP wasting your energy, time, and money on ladies or guys and do something little for your beloved mummy.

DON’T wait until is it too later!

Our mothers deserve better than our girlfriends and boyfriends. Think about it and make a decision.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL RESPONSIBLE MOTHERS ACROSS THE GLOBE ESPECIALLY MY MUM HAJIA FATI.
