I write this article in my capacity as a political and youth activist of the NDC party and a concern member of our great party. The National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In recent times people from various ethnic group and more especially from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are comenting and complaining on the codifier of her Excellency Former First Lady (Dr. Mrs. Konadu Agyeman Rawlings on her intention to context the sitting President Professor John Evans Fifii Attah Mills, Even though she has publicly and officially declare her intention to context.
Some members of the public including leading members of the NDC believe that the coming of Konadu might send back NDC to opposition, while others also belief that the coming of Konadu is simply because the professor is not getting things done in the right direction. Among other issues raised the party has been hijacked by a cross section of some people in the sense that if a party member does not dance to the tune of the Hijackers then one will be left out. Foot soldiers are strongly complaining almost everyday of not getting job, which has resulted in closing of public office including the party head office
Sympathizers and businessmen who help the party financially, physically and even though spiritually are been left to their faith, the situation has become “Monkey dey work Bamboo they chop” all attempt to get their grievances across has lead to deaf ears.
Majority of the Foot soldiers believe that if they can enjoy the better Ghana how then the ordinary man on the street feels it. This therefore leads to the rooting of Konadu Agyeman Rawlings. I even taught that immediately after the President was declare the winner of 2008 presidential election the president would have consider the First Lady (Konadu Agyeman Rawlings) the position of chief of staff.
But my question is that is the National Democratic Congress prepared to win the Election 2012, if really they are prepared to retain power, then I think the perception of Factionalism within the party would do no good to the NDC. The NDC must remember as a family that together we stand divided we fall. In that case if any body wants to context the sitting president that should not be a treat but rather it is the beauty of Democracy.
The greatest mistake the National Democratic Congress would make is to think that if Konadu won the Congress as been perceive, then the NDC is going back to opposition, even though election winning personality counts about 70% of what the electorate would be looking for is the competence and the ability of the candidate to deliver with some organization communication and marketing strategies.
The fact and bitter truth is that neither President Mills or Konadu Agyemang Rawlings does not automatically guarantee the NDC winning Election 2012 without proper organization propaganda and communication marketing etc.
I personally believe and am convinced that the NDC needs all hands on desk to over come the New Patriotic Party come election 2012. It is therefore very important for the NDC to know that who ever emerge as a winner at the congress must be given a full support failure to do so will lead to defeat in the general election.
It also important to be very careful about our discriminative and divisive vitriolic hate talks within the party. Same cactus around the presidency has become so powerful that, whatever they say is final and any attempt by individual to disagree with their views will lead to sabotage or side line of such person.
In my honest opinion I believe that act is unacceptable, because the beauty of Democracy is to disagree to agree with people on issues and they people around the president must know that tolerance play a key role in nation building and more especially in the better Ghana Agenda.
Another bitter truth is that the party is failing to address problems are major agitation within the party more especially among die hard supporters normally refered to as the cadres and foot soldiers. It is really sad that the President is been feed with wrong information that all is well.
The fact and the bitter truth again is that all is not well at all. The real social Democracy in the NDC 1 led by Former President Rawlings is not what is happening today.
The social democracy we are experiencing today is “Grab make I Grab Democracy” people in position are putting up Big houses, riding in luxury cars, travelling outside the country with their girls for holiday. Our people have just forgotten yesterday suffering that brought the NDC to power today. Instead of us to work harder to retain power tomorrow, its seems majority of the people in the helm of affairs seems not to care about anything simply because either we lost power or win power they would have grabbed what they need to keep themselves and for their families members, e.g. house, fat foreign accounts.
Another bitter truth is that these greedy people should remember that what ever they are doing Ghanaians are watching and one day some body would call each of them to account for the stewardship. It is also important to know that the principle and ideology behind the formation of the National Democratic Congress the party believe in socialism that is the grass root supporters more especially the foot soldiers and the ordinary Ghanaian must be able to give a good testimony of the Better Ghana Agenda.
Another Bitter truth is that the grass root is not fertile every one is complaining including leading members of the NDC party. There is really economic hardship in the systems.
Even though I perfectly agree that there are several social and economic developmental project going on through the nation, but the fact still remain that there is no job for the people the few job around goes to the friends families and cronies of people in government.
Another Bitter truth is that it is important for people around the presidency including the ministers and appointees to know that their votes together with their family and cronies does not guarantee the National Democratic Congress 10% of the 50% + 1 that makes one a president. The people we are refusing to help today are the same we might need their assistance tomorrow.
Our four years mandate is subject to renewal is near expiry and yet still things are getting worsen almost every day. I therefore call upon every appointees and people around the president to open their door for party members who might need their assistance and the general public. For no conduction is permanent.
GOD BLESS GHANA GOD BLESS NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS THANK YOU. TO BE CONTINUE
