The bad state of the Police Service

I will, without fear nor favour, state clearly and emphatically that the Ghana Police Service is not working and this is arguable.

I wonder why the Police Service will be in such a bad state like that with all the necessary resources at their disposal.

The Ghana of Government has, done so well, over the years, provided you with enough tools and equipment to combat crime. We know and see them especially on 6th March every year at the black star square.
That is the day we see you display your skills and tactics but fail to employ them on grounds where numerous crimes are ongoing.

What you know is to collect coins, 1 cedi, 2 cedis, 5 cedis from the poor driver who is struggling to make sales for the owner of his car, buy fuel and also cater for his family.
Shame on you! Were you thought that during your training?

Article 200 of the 1992 Constitution of Republic of Ghana has clearly spelt out the structure of the Service, persons in charge of the service and the duties of the Service and so that should be observed as such.

I know for sure that, the principal duty of the Police is to maintain law and order in the country. Nothing more or less.

But, we are all witnesses to kinds of lawlessness and indiscipline which are ongoing in the Ghanaian society. It is sad and it's not the first time a Ghanaian is speaking against it but nothing has been done about it for the past years.
Ghana is noted for peace and unity across the globe but I'm afraid we may lose that recognition in no time.
In fact, Ghana Police up your game.

•We cannot just sit down and look at the Fulanis kill people.

• We cannot be quiet on the rate at which landguards are operating and killing innocent souls.

• We cannot watch our innocent girls being raped

• We cannot live with armed robbers anymore

• We cannot stand the numerous Vigilanteism

We've moved beyond that as country. Let's not destroy our reputation with gross lawlessness.

I therefore urge the Chairman of the Police Council, H. E. Dr. Bawumia and the Inspector General of Police, Mr David Asante Apeatu to come up with positive measures to combat the increasing number of lawlessness in Ghana.

I have said what is on my mind and will continue to hit hard on failing institutions anytime things are not going on well.

Together we can build Ghana!
