Dear Sir,
I am compelled to write you this letter following the sad state of affairs that has bedevilled the Elephant fraternity of Bawku Central since the party took over the reins of government in December last year.
Sir, this piece represents the tears of several party faithful who have been heartbroken and devastated. It represents the tears of several who cannot celebrate the successes of this excellent young government because they are in constant pain and anguish. It represents the tears of hundreds of people who cannot book an appointment with you at the seat of government to cry and express their pain. It represents the tears of thousands of people who have witnessed family and ethnic ties torn apart because of your most recent decision to suspend the confirmation of your MCE nominee in the person of Alhaji Mogtar Bagaya.
Mr. President, this piece also represents the tears of hundreds who see a very bleak future and armageddon of the elephant family in Bawku if there is a change in decision with regards to the MCE nominee.
Your Excellency, this letter represents the tears of thousands of your supporters who do not even know whether this their cry will reach you.
Mr. President, I am very certain you know the political terrain of Bawku better than me because of your long standing relations with stalwarts and leaders of the NPP in Bawku. You are well acquainted with the fact that Bawku Central has always been the greatest contributor of popular votes for your campaign in the Upper East region. It also has a strong potential of winning the seat in next elections considering the performance in the parliamentary elections.
These excellent prospects will be severely threatened if the issue of the MCE nominee is not handled properly.
I wish to humbly assure you that your initial decision of appointing Alhaji Mogtar Bagaya as the MCE for Bawku Municpal Assembly was and is still the best political decision you have taken and I humbly urge you to be firm with that decision and grant the permission for the confirmation as soon as possible.
It is the best decision in uniting all the various factions that have emerged. It will bring smiles back on the faces of your supporters and wipe the tears that continue to be shed since your decision.
I am confident that you will listen to the cries of the voiceless and put smiles back on our faces.
We will continue to pray for you and your government to gain success in order to transform Ghana to the status it deserves.
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
Satim Saa
