I’m still here in Ghana enjoying the “Selective Tolerance for Corruption” offered by the No Policy Party (NPP). My Highly Indebted Poor Countrymen (HIPC) all expect this Christmas to be worse than last years. I keep reminding them of our president’s 2002 promise of “a better Christmas next year”. Most of them look at me like I just dropped from Mars
No wonder most of the chicken in Ghana are going Hmmmmmm
I was cut off from the rest of the world (internet-wise) for a while due to the NCS-Jonah crisis. Strangely enough I only got the details of the story through ghanaweb.com. The silence of the local press was so intense that it is deafening.
It’s silence like this that makes the North Korean Press go Hmmmmmm
Government To Buy VALCO?
A government that cannot manage Ghana Airways, Ghana telecom, VRA and Tema oil refinery is now biting more than it can chew. President Kufuor has made over 80 trips abroad and 80% of them were justified with the infamous statement “looking for investors”. Where are the investors when we need them most?
Hmmmmm… Has JAK been looking for investors or just making tourist trips?
“In the midst of such abject poverty, mountains of garbage in Accra, homelessness, joblessness, the NPP leadership and the Kufuor administration sees no problem with expensive cars, first class travels by government officials, and absolute opulence of the regime." - Kofi Wayo’s verdict on NPP leadership:
Hmmmmmm God bless our homeland Ghana….
According to Amnesty International, the Kufuor administration bought “torture tools” from the USA. The U.S. Department of Commerce last year approved licenses for exports of discharge-type weapons, including electro-shock stun guns, shock batons, and similar devices, to 45 countries, among them a large number where the State Department has reported the use of torture against detainees, including Ghana.
Someone please inform President Kufuor that his policies are torture enough, so he should save the taxpayer from going hmmmmmm
The Kufuor Administration secretly imported 2 tones of military hardware into the country on November 12, 2003. An Ethiopian Airways commercial airline arrived at the Accra Airport with 127 crates of cargo, which was moved without the normal armed escort, and at night to Australia House, which is a presidential lodge on the Switchback Road.
President kufuor, you can import all the ammunition you want and even resort to weapons of mass destruction, but it’s the people’s power that will bring you down if you fail to deliver.
It’s purchases like this that makes Shevednadze (ex-Georgian President) go Hmmmmmm
Help Stem Exodus Of Health Professionals’
Help us revive Ghana airways
Help us revive Ghana soccer
All the above headlines are pleads from government officials to visiting dignities. The feeling I get is this government believes it was elected to simply beg for help. I suggest in 2004 we elect the best beggar in the country to lead us.
A suggestion like this makes the (Non Performance Party) NPP go Hmmmmmm…
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, has said that it was time business organizations and individuals fulfilled their tax obligations to enhance the socio-economic development of the country. With all dues respect, nana, when did you last pay tax to the Ghana government?
It’s “do what I say not what I do” like this that makes communists go Hmmmmmm
The Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Dr Kwadwo Afari-Gyan, told an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) that about 30 additional constituencies might be created to bring the total number of constituencies to 230.
200 MPs can’t pay for their cars and we now want 30 more. The little I’ve seen in my 3 weeks does not encourage me that conditions have or will ever improve. The NPP government seems to be intoxicated with the tonic of power, that it has forgotten the reason for the demise of the NDC government. Where is the way forward?
Ghana is doomed and I fear our condition is permanent… On this pessimistic note, I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new Hmmmmmm
