When Koku Anyidoho Is Not Hallucinating About The Ghost Of Prof. Mills

I have always thought that Mr. Koku Anyidoho ought to feel most comfortable and at home in a chop bar conveniently attached to a palmwine bar. And so I was quaintly surprised to hear the former Atta-Mills Communications Director disparage a recent public lecture reportedly presented by Central University College's President Kwesi Yankah as one that was only suitable and tailored for the pleasure and enjoyment of chop-bar and palmwine-joint frequenters. And so, obviously, the chop-bar aspect of Mr. Anyidoho's personality, which is to say his innermost cockles, heartily enjoyed Prof. Yankah's lecture, which was sponsored by the prestigious Accra-based Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA), the globally renowned think-tank, except that it also presented him with a prime opportunity to defend himself against those Volta Youth Wing members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who recently accused the Deputy General-Secretary of the party of having deliberately set himself against President John Dramani Mahama.

As of this writing, a news report had appeared in the Ghanaian media alleging the Volta Youth Wing of the NDC to be heartily commending Mr. Anyidoho for playing the laudable role of a good party big boy. I stand to be corrected, but since the mysterious death of President John Evans Atta-Mills in July 2012, Mr. Anyidoho has spent most of his time sleeping and dreaming and, for the most part, hallucinating about the so-called Asomdwoehene - or King-of-Peace - and regaling those who care for the same, scandalously infantile stories about how his late boss was faring at his new Goose Park burial ground and post-existential residence. In essence, this is the first time in nearly three years that the man booted out of the Flagstaff House by President Mills' arch-lieutenant has tried to make what approximates a sensible statement in public (See "Prof Yankah Delivered Speech Fit For 'Chop Bar, Palm-Wine Joint - Koku Anyidoho" Adomonline.com / Ghanaweb.com 4/30/15).

What clearly appears to bother Mr. Anyidoho, who once called former President John Agyekum-Kufuor a facially unsightly man, is that Prof. Yankah would so cavalierly presume to call the Mahama government by its nationally acknowledged sobriquet - a thoroughgoing haven for discredited and officially discharged incurably corrupt cabinet appointees. Indeed, nearly every cabinet appointee relieved of his post has found his way back into the Flagstaff House and for a more lucrative assignment - name them, Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, Joseph "Pig-Faced" Yamin, whom I recently had the pleasure to spar with in quite a number of "filthy" email exchanges (it is about the only language that moron understands) in the wake of his summary removal as Deputy Asante Regional Minister. That pachydermal oaf had presumed to lecture yours truly on what constitutes best journalistic practice. Well, somebody failed to inform him that I did not receive my media training at the feet of one of those bootlicking and genuflecking cowards at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), and thus not one to take political abuse lying either flat on my back or on my stomach. I shall make time in due course to further broach my spat with pig-faced Yamin.

Then, of course, you have Ms. Akua Sena Dansua who kicked and screamed and literally tore up her undies like a snot-nosed five-year-old girl when then-President Mills moved her over from the Sports Ministry to Tourism. She would shamelessly and publicly claim that she was being punished for unspecified reasons. Today, that emotional basket case is Ghana's Ambassador to Germany, the same major European nation whose Lady Chancellor diagnosed NDC's Mr. Johnson Asiedu-Nketia, the Mosquito General, to be a clinical cross-dresser. Mr. Asiedu-Nketia has since publicly admitted as much. Yamin, the porcine goofball who carried $3 million cash in a brief case on the Mahama Presidential Jet to Brazil during the 2014 World Cup, would be rewarded with the plum post of Deputy Asante Regional Minister, very likely for causing about $300,000 financial loss to the State, in the form of free money for the Brazilian Customs Department.

Well, in the Yamin-initiated abusive emails, I gave the twerp his fair share of condign accolades. We also, of course, have the comical case of Mr. Kwadwo Adu-Asare, the former NDC-MP for Adentan, Accra-Central, who, recalled from his post (I forget which) for gross administrative mismanagement and incompetence, attempted to save face by claiming to have been merely recalled for a higher portfolio at the Flagstaff House. In reality, Mr. Adu-Asare had been demoted to serve under the man named to replace him. And the list goes on and on and on. And so if one may aptly ask the following of Mr. Anyidoho: Precisely where did Prof. Yankah go wrong, when the former Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana described the Mahama Flagstaff House as a haven for some of the most corrupt and incompetent cabinet appointees? Isn't the very appointment of a Trokosi scam-artist, or rather his micro-election, to the post of NDC Deputy-General-Secretary in itself a glaring example of the sort of rank corruption and abjectly reprehensible level of ethics in the Mahama government that Prof. Yankah is talking about?

Just recently, Mr. Anyidoho was widely reported in the media to be calling for the Volta faction or wing of the National Democratic Congress to use him to the "great effect" of representing the exclusive and special interests of the Anlo-Ewe people. And so where did Prof. Yankah go wrong, Efo Kokuvi?
