Columnist: Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom
While the people thirst,
While they hunger,
While they are still engulfed in filth,
While indiscipline threatens us on the roads, everywhere,
While dumsor persists,
While the graduates remain unemployed,
While the children remain outside the classroom,
While government cries about a difficult economy, inherited,
While we import rice, vegetables and "home" second hand everything,
While every business person I know who does not feed off government's table is nervous,
While the young think business means connection and money come now,
While we are swamped with taxes, fees, levies and more taxes, fees and levies, but no services,
THEY are busy holding jamborees, collecting history papers, recruiting examiners,
THEY must not forget so soon, the reason why a party went and a party came,
THEY must know that the people are still suffering, while they are busy "marking" history papers!
