Woyome Laughing all the way out of Court

....with the Swindled GHC51 Million

The NDC's powerful machinery is once more set in motion to assist Alfred Agbesi Woyome walk out of court a free man to enjoy the swindled GHC51 or so Millions. I laugh my head off when I see the NDC tickling themselves and laughing "hahahahaaa".

Their considered clever way to assist Woyome extricates himself from the powerful grips of the law, swindler as he is, amazes me. What they see in their wisdom as the wisest and most effective means to exonerate him from possible conviction is to me, the depiction of their folly at its highest. Does it not portray their incompetence, their propensity to aid and abet crime, and how truly they connived with him to dupe Ghana to enrich not only himself, but also certain individuals within the NDC and the NDC as a party?

Before I proceed any further, please permit me to recap the points relating to the ongoing Woyomegate scandal. Alfred Agbesi Woyome, a self-styled bankroller of the NDC party sued Ghana Government (NDC government) for failure to honour a CAN 2008 contract he presumably signed with the NPP government. The NDC government failed to conduct in-depth investigations into Woyome's claim. The government failed to contact the previous NPP administration for clarification and support. The then Attorney General, Mrs Betty Mould-Iddrisu, either out of incompetence or utter connivance, threw in the towel long before the case went to Commercial court for deliberation. She said, "Ghana has no defence" probably meaning Ghana's legs were so feeble, aching that bad, and wobbling horribly enough to be able to stand on to challenge the heavy build Woyome. The court granted a default judgment in favour of Woyome subsequent upon the Attorney General's failure to challenge the case. The Attorney General again went for a secret settlement with Woyome. The final terms they agreed on, leading to paying the entire judgment debt supposedly owed to him was totally in divergence to the Court's order and stipulations.

President Mills initially lied to Ghana that he was not aware of any such gargantuan judgment debt payment to Alfred Agbesi Woyome. He intimated that if the Court had awarded judgment in favour of Woyome, then Woyome is entitled to the money notwithstanding Betty Mould-Iddrisu's failure to challenge Woyome's claim. President Mills was rather more interested in who caused the liability but not who effected the payment whether dubiously or not. Anyway, Alfred Agbesi Woyome has personally acknowledged on air via PeaceFm radio that he never signed any contract with the NPP Government for the rehabilitation of stadia CAN 2008. He could not justify why he sued the NDC Government for that gargantuan judgment debt payment for which he is or was not due, when questioned by Chairman Kwami Sefa Kayi, the host of the flagship morning show programme, "Kookrokoo"

Now let me proceed to lay bare the hollow-mindedness, and the irresponsible covert attempts by the NDC to conceal their direct involvement and beneficial interest in the Woyome saga. The Attorney General's Department initially colluded with Woyome to obtain the money. This is obvious from the failure by Betty Mould-Iddrisu to challenge the claim, how she went for secret settlement quite disadvantageous to Ghana, and the pressure she brought to bear on the Finance Minister, Hon. Dr. Kwabena Duffour, to effect payment immediately. The Deputy Attorney General, Ebo Barton-Odro came out vociferously to defend Woyome when the entire unprecedented gargantuan scandal or corruption had become public knowledge. Alex Segbefia, the Deputy Chief of Staff and Akyena Brentuo, a member of the NDC Communication Team at the presidency and other NDC government appointees joined the frenzy defending Woyome. This is what baffles people like me and raises high the stakes of suspicion of NDC's covert involvement in the fraud wrongly executed by Woyome.

How can the very people publicly exhibiting selfish interest and support for Woyome, umpires in a sense, go to court to defend Ghana against the daylight robbery inflicted on her by Woyome and his shameless crooks? Is this not the reason why they are buying time with their incessant requests for deferment of the case whenever it is due for hearing at the Commercial Court? The judge presiding over the case, Justice John Ajet-Nassam, has warned that he "may be compelled to take a decision that will not be in the interest of the country if State prosecutors continue asking for more adjournments" and said, “Throw in the towel or get serious,” a visibly serious looking Judge Ajet-Nassam told the State prosecutors. Is it not a deliberate attempt to compel any judge in this case to grant a default judgment in favour of Woyome as it happened previously paving the way for him to obtain the much talked about GHC51 Million for no job done?

The NDC party has financially benefited from the fraudulently obtained money by Woyome hence stupidly putting up an attitude that covertly favours Woyome. Whatever they do, Woyome will pay back the money. Woyome had better name all those that had benefited from his dubiously obtained judgment debt payment.

President Mills is more interested in chasing NPP functionaries to blame and prosecute for money the NDC rather tacitly connived with an individual to steal from Mother Ghana. He should concentrate on finding out why they paid someone who had not signed any contract with Ghana government that gargantuan judgment debt money. Could this be possible if he was not their party financier? The NDC only used Woyome as a front to enrich their party and themselves, period. Thanks to the Most Honourable Kennedy Agyapong, NDC would have totally pilfered the coffers of Ghana without majority of Ghanaians knowing.

Woyome had better pay the money and stop living in the fool's paradise thinking Ghanaians will allow him to enjoy the money in peace. There will never be a second default judgment in his favour as the judge threatens to if the State prosecutors continue to behave that irresponsibly. Ghanaians are wide-awake so the NDC with their intentionally selected conniving, irresponsible and incompetent State prosecutors can keep on dreaming by continually seeking unnecessary adjournments. As Night follows Day and Day chases Night, Alfred Agbesi Woyome will pay back the money with interest, "Insha Allah"

The prosecutors must consult Ex-Attorney General Martin Amidu for expert's advice and direction if truly they are on the side of the State. They should also seek vital information and advice from relevant former NPP government functionaries. Mr Amidu has become a presidential material by his acts of honesty and sincerity to Mother Ghana in the wake of the Woyome saga.
