During the Fetu Afahye 2024 festival in Cape Coast, the Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG) distributed 21,552 male condoms and conducted various health screenings to promote safe sex and prevent sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
As part of their efforts, 722 people were tested for HIV, with two positive cases, and 602 for Hepatitis B, resulting in five positive cases.
In partnership with local stakeholders, PPAG educated over 600 people in 13 communities on sexual and reproductive health.
These efforts aimed to reduce unintended pregnancies, STIs, and sexual and gender-based violence during the festival.
