Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) has secured essential dialysis consumables currently being expedited through Tema Port.

The move follows the sudden closure of its renal unit, which led to the reported deaths of three patients.

The Ghana Revenue Authority and Ghana Supply Company are assisting in fast-tracking the clearance.

KBTH management anticipates that full outpatient dialysis services will resume early next week.

The hospital has also announced the procurement of 30 additional dialysis machines and a year's supply of consumables to prevent future shortages.

Management apologized for the disruption and thanked patients for their patience.
