Govt to implement measures to curb exodus of medical professionals – Okoe Boye

Health Minister Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye has announced measures to curb the exodus of Ghanaian medical professionals, following concerns over nearly 4,000 nurses and other practitioners leaving in 2023 for better opportunities abroad.

Highlighting the impact on the healthcare system, Boye proposed partnerships between training centers and healthcare facilities to enhance professional development and retention.

He emphasized MoUs between district health centers and teaching hospitals and plans to increase annual training numbers in collaboration with the Ghana Dental Association (GDA) and Ghana Education Service.

These initiatives aim to address the critical shortage and ensure accessible healthcare for all Ghanaians.
