The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is set to inaugurate the first phase of the Heal Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) project, known as the "demonstration floors," by the end of November 2024.

Project lead Samuel Adu Boakye revealed that 40% of the $10 million funding target has been raised, enabling significant progress in roofing, painting, wiring, and plumbing works.

The renovation aims to restore the 70-year-old Gee block, which has suffered decades of neglect.

Despite challenges with foreign exchange and import duties, the project has advanced steadily, maintaining uninterrupted patient care.

The demonstration floors will feature modern medical equipment to enhance healthcare delivery in the Ashanti Region and beyond.
