Health Ministry seeks six-month extension to recover over GH¢100K unpaid rent

The Ministry of Health has requested a six-month extension to recover approximately 100,000 cedis in unpaid rent from 19 employees for official accommodations at Korle Bu and Asylum Down Flats.

Due to a delay from the Financial Controller of the Ministry of Finance in submitting necessary forms, only 11,000 cedis have been recovered so far.

Emma Ofori Agyemang, Director of Policy, Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation, assured that a system is now in place to deduct rent directly from employees' salaries.

She is confident that the remaining amount will be recovered within the next six months.
