Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah, CEO of Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH), has refuted claims that the hospital's only cancer treatment machine malfunctioned, leaving patients stranded.
He clarified that the hospital has multiple machines, and only one, the most advanced, had a temporary issue.
This machine was quickly repaired, and no patients were significantly affected.
Dr. Ampomah emphasized that alternative arrangements ensured continued patient care, and reports suggesting a complete disruption were misleading.
He also noted that such breakdowns, though inconvenient, are not uncommon in organizations.
