Minority threatens protest over locked up medical supplies at Tema Port

The Minority Caucus in Parliament has threatened to protest if the government does not clear essential medical supplies containers stuck at Tema Port within two weeks.

This follows Health Minister Bernard Okoe Boye's ultimatum to port officers to release the Global Fund-donated supplies. The Health Minister pledged to personally ensure the containers are cleared if the deadline is not met.

Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, Ranking Member on the Health Committee, emphasized the urgency and warned that all containers must be cleared within the two-week period.

He also urged the government to address the concerns of the Medical Laboratory Professional Workers’ Union.
