The Ministry of Health (MoH) and the Ghana Health Service (GHS) have launched the AYA-Integrated Healthcare Initiative (IHI) to address the increasing burden of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) like cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.
The initiative, a continuation of the Ghana Heart Initiative, focuses on preventing, detecting, and managing NCDs in the country.
Funded by Bayer AG, Sanofi, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the program is implemented by GIZ.
Deputy Health Minister Alexander Akwasi Acquah urged private sector support, highlighting NCDs as a major global health issue, especially in low and middle-income countries.
