Dr. Angela Durowaa Frempong, an Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Obaatan Pa Women's Hospital, has warned women about the increased risk of cervical cancer linked to having multiple sexual partners at a public health symposium.
She emphasized the connection between multiple partners and heightened exposure to the human papillomavirus (HPV), the leading cause of cervical cancer.
Dr. Frempong stressed the importance of regular screenings, practicing safe sex, and reducing sexual partners.
She also highlighted challenges women face in making health decisions due to a lack of empowerment and financial independence.
The symposium aimed to raise awareness and encourage proactive reproductive health care.
