The Health Committee of Parliament has condemned the closure of the Renal Unit at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, which has reportedly led to the deaths of three kidney patients.
The unit has been shut down for nearly two weeks without explanation, causing public outrage.
Alexander Roosevelt, MP for Central Tongu and a committee member expressed shock, highlighting that the National Insurance Authority recently allocated 2 million cedis to support renal patients.
He questioned the closure, given the supposed funds and supplies, and criticized the government for neglecting critical healthcare needs amid ongoing political promises.
