Manhyia District Hospital has suspended planned surgeries and closed its theatre due to a strike by the Medical Laboratory Professional Workers’ Union (MELPWU).

Only emergency surgeries will be conducted. Patients seeking lab services are stranded, facing notices of the strike and red bands at the laboratories.

Frustrated patients, like Godwin Vinyon and Theresah Osei, are appealing for a quick resolution, as their urgent medical needs are unmet.

Vinyon emphasized the impact on his health, while Osei expressed confusion and distress over the inability to obtain lab results necessary for her doctor's appointment.
