Who are you?: Akandoh blocked from inspecting lift at Korle Bu’s surgical department

Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the Ranking Member of Parliament’s Health Committee, was blocked from conducting an unannounced inspection at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital’s surgical department on September 2.

Akandoh visited to verify reports that emergency surgeries had been suspended due to malfunctioning elevators.

However, Dr. Adu Aryee, head of the department, questioned Akandoh’s authority and identity, leading to a confrontation.

Akandoh later confirmed that the elevators were indeed not working and criticized the hospital's failure to maintain them, calling on the government to resolve the issue within 24 hours.
