Manasseh Azure Awuni is a Ghanaian freelance investigative journalist and public speaker. He has worked with the Multimedia Group Limited and is known for his anti-corruption reports. He is currently the head of Investigation at Joy FM and Joy News, subsidiaries of MGL.
He was born in Bongo, in the Upper East Region of Ghana, and bred in the Volta Region where he completed his secondary education at the Krachi Senior High School. He also obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the Ghana Institute of Journalism and a Master of Arts degree in Communication Studies from the University of Ghana.
Manasseh began his career as a freelance journalist before joining the Multimedia Group Limited in 2012.
Manasseh Azure broke a story in 2016, when a Ford Expedition, was gifted to the then president of Ghana, John Mahama from a Burkinabé contractor. The gift is believed to be a return favor for a contract the businessman landed thereby causing some groups to investigate. This punched a lot of holes in John Mahama's second term bid.
Manasseh and Joy FM in 2019 released "Militia in the heart of the nation", a documentary on how an unlicensed security group believed to be affiliated with the New Patriotic Party was operating from the Osu Castle. The government denied this but there were several contradictions from spokespersons of the government.
Manasseh Azure and Joy FM was also sued by De-Eye.
Manasseh has won various awards for his works including the journalist of the year at the West Africa Media Excellence Awards (WAMECA).
