Ibrahim Mohammed Awal is a Ghanaian politician and a member of the New Patriotic Party. He was the former Minister of Business Development in Ghana and the current Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture.

He attended the Yendi Senior High School for his senior high school and proceeded to the Ghana Institute of Journalism. He holds a Masters's in Applied Business Research from the Swiss Business School, Switzerland, and an Executive Masters in Business Administration from the University of Ghana Business School, Legon.

He also obtained a Master in International Journalism from the University of Wales, United Kingdom, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration at the Swiss Business School.

Ibrahim Mohammed Awal was a former reporter and later page editor at the Graphic Communications Group Limited. In 2017, he was the Chief Executive Officer of the company after serving as the general manager and advertising manager.

In 2010, he resigned and became the Managing Director of Chase Petroleum. He also worked ad the CEO of Marble Communication Group Limited.

He was awarded by the Charted Institute of Marketing Ghana as the Marketing Man of the year for his contribution to marketing in 2009.

Ibrahim Mohammed Awal was nominated in 2017 by President Akuffo-Addo for the Minister of Business Development and was well accepted by the Ghana Union of Traders, the Association of Ghana Industries, and the general business community who expected it to have been established earlier.

He was vetted on 7 February 2017 and made it known to the vetting committee that by 2020 the rate of unemployment would be reduced and for more women to own their own business. He was approved on 10 February 2017.
