$800m gas deal can lead to judgment debt, don’t sign it – Mahama warns govt

John Dramani Mahama, the NDC flagbearer, has warned President Akufo-Addo against signing an $800 million gas processing contract, citing potential future financial losses for Ghana.

During a community engagement on September 28, he criticized the government for allegedly rushing the contract approval without legislative scrutiny, suggesting self-interest as the motive before their term ends.

Mahama emphasized that the contract should be presented to Parliament and warned that those responsible for any resulting losses would be held accountable.

He vowed to ensure transparency and accountability if elected, opposing actions that do not benefit Ghanaians.
