A former First National Vice-chairperson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Madam Anita De-Soso has announced her premature retirement from active politics after her humiliation with 300 votes by the delegates of the party over the weekend.

She joins her sister with whom she served as National Women’s Organizer at one time, former Gender Minister Otiko Afisah Djaba who also announced her retirement from active politics after a reshuffle threw her to Italy from her ministerial post.

Anita De-Soso was speaking on Accra100.5FM’s Ghana Yensom hosted by Kwabena Prah Jnr on Monday.

“I thank all the people who voted for me, although it didn’t go as we expected,” she said of her walloping.

“I have done politics for 39 good years and I have never been on leave. I am taking a break, I am not quitting the party, I wish everybody in the party well,” she said.

She, however, clarified something very important, that she has not resigned or quit the NDC for good.

“I haven’t resigned from the party, I am only taking a break, I will be back.” she clarified.
