IMANI Africa's Founder, Franklin Cudjoe, has criticized both former President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and President Akufo-Addo for bankrupting Ghana.
He compared their leadership, emphasizing financial mismanagement. Cudjoe’s comments follow Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s controversial praise of Akufo-Addo, which likened his achievements to Nkrumah’s.
After backlash, Prempeh apologized, clarifying he meant no disrespect. Cudjoe, however, supported Prempeh's right to his opinion but stressed that attempts to rewrite history are futile.
He highlighted Akufo-Addo’s failure to learn from past leaders and drew parallels between his and Nkrumah’s governance, pointing out alleged dictatorial tendencies, notably in the case of former Auditor General Daniel Domelevo.
