President Akufo-Addo has sworn in Deputy Chief of Staff Fawaz Aliu as an Ambassador-at-Large, alongside two other new diplomats.

Major General Charles Kojo Abedi Awity was appointed Ghana's Ambassador to Serbia, while Mr. Peprah Ampratwum was named Ambassador In-Situ.

The appointments, including Aliu's dual role, come shortly after the President's Executive Secretary, Nana Bediatuo Asante, was also made an Ambassador-at-Large.

While the President emphasized the need to strengthen Ghana's global ties, the timing of these appointments amid economic challenges has sparked public criticism and debate over their necessity.
