Akufo-Addo urges Trade Union to resort to dialogues instead of strikes

President Akufo-Addo has urged trade unions to prioritize dialogue over strikes to address their concerns.

Speaking at the Trade Union Congress on August 20, he emphasized that social dialogue fosters peace, mutual respect, and trust, which are essential for economic growth.

He acknowledged the challenges facing the nation but called for moderation in union demands, considering global and local economic conditions.

The President also encouraged unions to partner with the government to ensure that advancements like automation and artificial intelligence do not lead to job losses or increased inequality.
