The traditional authorities of Efutuakwa Council in the Central Region have taken action against Assin Central NDC executives who invoked curses on the Electoral Commission (EC) and the NPP Parliamentary candidate, Godfred Nti Anewu.
The NDC members accused the NPP of bussing people from Kasoa to transfer their votes, but invoking curses is prohibited in Efutuakwa Traditional Area.
As a result, the NDC members have been fined GH¢10,000, 10 sheep, and six boxes of schnapps.
They are also required to perform rituals to revoke the curse and to reverse it at Antoa and Assin Nyankomasi communities. The traditional authorities emphasized the need for politicians to focus on development rather than creating enmity.
