The Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament and MP for Nadowli/Kaleo constituency in the Upper West Region Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, the former President of Ghana; John Mahama, Spio-Garbrah and Sly Mensah graced this year's Hogbetsotso Festival which was held yesterday in the Volta Region with the theme "Shoring Up Our Cultural Capital; Uniting in Commonwealth and Resolve."

The NDC flagbearer hopefuls represented their party very well with their presence and it was highly commended by all and sundry.

Obviously, these NDC flagbearer hopefuls are more united than perceived. They were all spotted exchanging pleasantries and on so many occasions were seen conversing and smiling to each other.

The festival brought about memories with different cultural displays and performances and it was well attended by people from all walks of life.

The Awoamefia of Anlo State, His Royal Majesty Torgbui Sri iii, in his address, mentioned that although the Anlo state wants development, splitting the Volta Region into two is not the only option to see through the region's development.

He also appealed to the President of Ghana; Akufo-Addo to pay attention to some aspects that pose problems to the country's continuous existence as a Unitary State.

"Among my many concerns is the recent spate of hate speech and ethnocentric attacks on minorities that have characterised our political landscape and appears to be gaining grounds on social media, gradually eating into body politic with extreme venom" he added.
