Banking sector clean-up was a ‘knee-jerk’ reaction by govt – Mahama

John Dramani Mahama, the NDC Flagbearer, has criticized the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government’s banking sector clean-up as a "knee-jerk" reaction.

During a meeting with Groupe Nduom's management, who requested the restoration of GN Bank’s license, Mahama promised to fairly address the clean-up's victims if elected.

He emphasized the importance of the financial sector to national security and argued the clean-up could have been more measured.

In a Facebook post, Mahama highlighted the closures' social impact and pledged to restore Indigenous banks' licenses, ensuring they thrive. He stressed the need for a reasoned, calm approach to banking sector issues.
