Bawumia government will improve prison infrastructure and prisoners’ welfare

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President and NPP flagbearer, has pledged to enhance prison infrastructure and improve prisoner welfare if elected president.

Speaking in Akim Oda, he outlined plans to expand prison facilities into effective rehabilitation centers and increase prisoners' daily allowances from GH₵1.80, which he considers insufficient.

Bawumia, known for his past support, including upgrading the Ashanti Regional Central Prisons and building water systems, emphasized his commitment to prison reform and improving conditions for inmates.
