Bawumia unites Opoku Prempeh and Wontumi ahead of running mate announcement

Vice President and NPP presidential candidate for 2024, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has successfully mediated a reconciliation between Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Wontumi), Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (Napo), MP for Manhyia South.

Their longstanding differences, including disagreements over party matters and Napo's potential nomination as Bawumia's running mate, were resolved.

The mediation, held at Dr. Bawumia's residence, involved senior party members and led to a commitment from Wontumi and Napo to unite behind Bawumia's leadership.

Napo is expected to be endorsed as Bawumia's running mate by the NPP's national council on July 2, 2024.
