Trades and Industry Minister KT Hammond has vowed to ignore a petition from the Chamber of Cement Manufacturers to delay a legislative instrument regulating cement prices.
The instrument aimed to prevent exploitation by manufacturers and imposes a three-year jail term for violations.
Despite opposition, Hammond remains resolute, stating he has attempted to engage manufacturers in good faith but will now prioritize the interests of Ghanaians.
He expects the bill to be passed soon, hoping to lay it in Parliament within 21 days.
