Information Minister Fatimatu Abubakar has refuted claims by NDC flagbearer John Mahama that the government used a loan to fund the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP).
Mahama alleged that only 15% of the loan amount was paid.
However, Abubakar clarified that the government used the District Assembly Common Fund, a statutory fund without political affiliation, to finance the DRIP initiative.
The program, launched on July 31, 2024, by President Akufo-Addo, aims to equip local assemblies with the necessary resources for road maintenance and development.
