An aspirant for the position of Deputy National Youth Organizer of National Democratic Congress (NDC), Justice Yeboah, says he is shocked by the result of the elections.
The NDC elected its National Women’s Organiser and Youth Organiser on Saturday following very tensed elections. The election which was held at the Pentecost Convention Centre at Gomoa Feteh in the Central Region, saw Mr. Yeboah lose out on the Deputy National Youth Organiser position to Edem Agbana.
While Mr. Yeboah managed just seven votes, Mr. Agbana garnered a whopping 396 votes, with Ruth Dela also emerging 2nd Deputy National Youth organizer with 341 votes. Mr. Yeboah has since expressed shock at the results, insisting at least 42 delegates swore they voted for him.
“I had 7 votes but 42 delegates have called me, they were all trying to convince me that they voted for me. I wish I had (0),” he said.
In the other positions, former Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr. Hannah Bissiw was elected the National Women’s Organizer. She beat off stiff competition from incumbent Hajia Zaynab Mahama, Hajia Tawa Zakari and Margaret Chiravira to win the coveted position.
Meanwhile, Maame Efua and Abigail Elorm were also elected as the Deputy Women’s Organisers.
