Former president John Agyekum Kufour has asked the Akufo-Addo-led administration not to relent on highlighting its achievements since assuming power.

The former president said government has done a lot in terms of developing the country, and that, it is important some of these achievements are told for Ghanaians to appreciate government’s work.

Mr. Kufuor said this while addressing party faithfuls at the National Delegates Conference of the NPP at the Trade Fair Centre in Accra on Sunday, December 22.

The former president admonished government to learn from past mistakes of keeping mute about achievements which caused the party years back.

“Our present government under the able leadership of president Akufo-Addo is doing very well, but we’ve got to tell our story. If we do not trumpet our achievements, and there are many, very many, no one will sell them for us.

“We have had greater lessons in the past to learn from on this score, and we should not let the sad history repeat itself.”

The trumpeting of achievements, former president Kufuor said, will make Ghanaians vote the NPP to retain power.

“If we are able to do this, Ghanaians, I believe will continue to reward us with multiple successive mandates,” Mr. Kufuor noted.

He further stressed that Ghanaians are appreciative of the NPP as a party, and trust the party to lead Ghana to its desired place of growth and development.

“I have come to the firm conclusion over my very long service in politics to our nation and party that Ghanaians naturally love our party.

“They share in our vision of development in freedom and respect for private individuals and enterprises and our liberal democratic outlook. They know that it is our party that can bring the transformation that our nation yearns for. Our conduct makes it easy for Ghanaians to continue loving us, and to continue giving us the mandate.”

The NPP Delegates Conference is under the theme “We have performed better-4 More to Do More.”
